airline price drop

I know this subject has been discussed, but I am unable to get the search to work. We are looking at Jan. prices and they have dropped a little, but we really want to fly a red eye flight and are worried they will book up early. Does anyone know if American airlines or Northwest airlines give vouchers if the price drops? And how much does it have to drop per ticket in order to get one? Also, which has a less restrictive baggage policy? (weight, size and number wise)? Thank you. Debby

The baggage restrictions are listed on the airlines' sites.
I believe Delta gives vouchers but ONLY if it is the identical flight on the identical day and with the identical fare code. I don't know about NWA's policies, but, you can always call them. do you live near Spokane or Seattle? SWA flies out of those airports and has a very easy policy for changing flights and a very nice luggage policy, three checked pieces each 70#. I believe Delta has two at 50#.

I can't help with the baggage policies but I know that Northwest gives vouchers if the price drops. We've done it several times. I don't know if they have a set amount that it has to drop. I know that once it dropped about 10-12 a ticket and we got vouchers. Not long after that it dropped another 45 per ticket and we got more vouchers. We don't like to wait on buying our tickets either and always buy when it reaches a price I can live with then continue to watch and get vouchers if it drops further.

I noticed that my airfare tickets for Oct dropped by only $13 each. I called American after getting some good advice on this board and got 2 vouchers totalling $26. Sounds like I'm a cheapskate but I thought I'd try to get money back and it works! I hope to use the $26 towards our next flight. Better in our pockets than theirs. Good Luck!
