can anyone suggest a credit card with airline miles? any pros and cons with the card?

Watch for annual fees. For example, I think Southwest is $59. Some airlines offer no fee for the first 1 or 2 years, some offer bonus miles/credits to start. I got a SW card last April at the stand in the airport, I got 8 bonus credits, which combined with what I had in my account gave me a free ticket for December. It's coming up for renewal and I'm going to cancel it rather than pay the $59 fee again (you only get the bonus at sign-up). If you are looking at a card with an airline that uses miles, keep in mind that it can be very difficult to get a 25,000 mile award ticket.

You may be better off with a card that you can turn into miles for more than one airline or even use for different options. These usually work best if you have a lot of charges like through a business, travel a LOT and/or have some other source of miles/points. We use the Marriott rewards card and the Disney rewards as a back up. We've given up our Amex Delta card due to fees and what are better options for use with Marriott.

My favorite card is the Starwood AMEX. You earn 1.25 points per $$ spent. Those points can be used to book free nights at hotels such as Sheratons, Westins and 4 Points, including the Swan & Dolphin at WDW. In addition, you can convert those points into FF miles on a 1:1 basis on most major airlines (UA & CO are notable exceptions, which convert on a 2:1 basis). This allows you to add to miles you already earn by flying, shopping online or any other way, so that you have enough for a reward.

There are some promos out there to give you bonus points and the first year free for this card.

Best of luck -- Suzanne

I like a card that can supplement my earned miles. For example my AMEX will allow me to transfer credits to Southwest Rapid Rewards that when added to the credits I've earned will enable me to get a free flight. My favorite was Diner's Club but then they changed the plan and it was less desirable. AMEX also will transfer to several different airlines so I have greater flexibility. It is a Blue card with no annual fee. I've had it for years so I don't know if new cards are still free.

I love our SWA Visa. This year alone we are taking our anniversary trip in May and paying $10 for two round trip tickets. :thumbsup2

capitall one earns 1.25 miles for each 1 spent. No hassle miles...can redeem from many of the legacy carriers...Jet Blue does not participate...
Can redeem for tickets at several different levels...15,000 miles =ticket up to $150. Next level is 25,000....NO ANNUAL FEE. We have redeemed several "free" airline tix with no problems.

I like the AMEX..lotsof choices and can move points onto any of the mileage programs to fill in where I need them.

Since this thread is not really DVC related, and the OP's questions have been answered, it will now be closed.
