I was hoping you could help me with some airline definitions. What is the difference between Coach (restricted) and Coach (unrestricted)? Thank you for your help.
There's probably a more detailed/accurate explanation, but I've always thought the difference was: non-refundable/hard to change without a penalty payment (Coach-restricted)
vs.
fully refundable/change to any flight with space available (Coach - unrestricted).
Oh,also the price of Coach unrestricted is always way, way more than restricted and way, way, way WAY more than I ever want to pay!
Someone else can will no doubt give you the "official, legalese" definitions.
PS. Price of ticket never seemed to make any difference in where I got assigned to sit. Used to travel for business and company used to always purchased unrestricted for us. Now they don't, though. They figure it is better to pay an occasional change fee than get full-price coach
