Does anyone know if they are doing this at SS?, I understand they are doing this at the other hotels with certain airlines.(Being able to check-in at hotel and receiving boarding pass) Thanks for any help

I believe it applies to all WDW resorts, includign DVC. You just need to have the right airline.

Do you know where there is a list of airlines participating in this please?

Currently, the participating air carriers at the Resort Airline
Check-In counters are American, Delta, song, Continental, jetBlue, United and Ted.
If you chose another airline you are responsible for checking your luggage at the airport. ME will still put them on the bus along with you.

I think the current list of resort check-in airlines includes: American, Delta (including Song), Continental, Jet Blue and United (including Ted).

The only list I've ever been able to find on one of Disney's own web sites is this one: http://disneymeetings.disney.go.com/dwm/services/detail?name=DMEPlannerFAQDetailPage#C4Q1 However I think the info there is slightly out of date because someone on the Transportation board posted that Jet Blue now allows resort check-in but JetBlue does not appear in the list of airlines on the Disney meetings website. :confused3

You might want to keep an eye on the DME discussions on the transportation board as you get closer to your trip. In the early days of DME, there were long, very slow moving lines to check in for flights at the resorts. Hopefully things have improved now that the service has been in operation for 3 months. Also, the check-in desks are only staffed during certain hours (7am-2pm? or maybe it's 6am-2pm?) and your DME bus will depart your resort 3 hours prior to your flight, so if your flight leaves earlier than 9am, your DME bus will be picking you up before the resort check-in desk opens for the day, in which case you will have to take your luggage with you on the bus.

Thanks LisaS
But the service I am interested in is just checking my baggage and receiving boarding pass for my flight I will be driving myself to airport, I believe this service is separate from dme and run by the airlines not disney or mears. Can someone please verify?

Oh, I thought you were using DME. I don't know if you can do it w/o using DME. Good quesiton. :confused3

Hmmm, not 100% positive on this, but I was reading a thread yesterday that you can do the DME outbound only if that suits you (in otherwords, you don't have to do it going to the resort, but can elect to do it on your way home). And, that you can check-in for your flight and check your bags and arrange for your own transportation to the airport, even though the flight check-in and bag check are part of DME.

The answer to your question (and many other questions about DME and luggage handling and checking in for flights) can be found at that same website that I listed earlier: http://disneymeetings.disney.go.com/dwm/services/detail?name=DMEPlannerFAQDetailPage

Here is a cut and paste from that website that addresses your specific question about checking in for the flight but arranging your own airport transportation:

Q: Do Guests have to ride the Disney's Magical Express motor coach back to the airport in order to participate in the Resort Airline Check-in?

A:No. After utilizing the Resort Airline Check-in, Guests can either take advantage of the complimentary Disney's Magical Express motor coach transportation to the airport or they can arrange their own private transportation. Their checked luggage will be transported to the airport regardless of which transportation option they choose.

Thanks again LisaS
Did a total brain burp on web link you you put up earlier sorry.

No problem. It isn't exactly obvious that you need to go look at the Disney meetings website to find the only source of official (i.e., from Disney) info on DME! It's also worth taking a look at the Transportation board here because you will find info posted by people who have actually used the resort check-in service. I remember when the DME service first started back in May, people were posting that the lines to check in at the resort were long and moved very slowly. I haven't checked there in the past month or so, so hopefully things have improved. I'm not saying don't use the check-in service, but just that it's good to know how much time you might need to get through the line.
