I hope I am posting this in the right place.... I read that you can check in at for your departing flight at your disney hotel. How does this work? Can I pick my seats at check in at the hotel? - We are flying AirTran and can't pick seats until 24 hrs before the flight, if not is there internet access at the hotels?

This is making me crazy thinking one of us may not be able to sit next to my DS9 ont he plane.

we fly delta and were only able to do resort check-in once so far because it wasn't available on our past trips. We were not able to pick our seats but were sitting next to each other. As far as I know, if you check in together and are on the same reservation you will gets seats next to each other. I would double check by calling the airline, but seeing as we did not get to pick what seats we wanted, and we were sitting next to each other, it seems that is the way it works :confused3

We just went threw this. We were able to check in at the hotel. We also flew Airtran. I didnt even think about asking them to make sure our seats were together. It was me, hubby and 2 girls 2 & 5. They printed our boarding passes and they were not together at all. I asked the lady if she could do something about this and she said no. We would have to do it at the gate a the airport. We did and got seat all together then.

We flew Delta last week and I was able to choose our seats when I made the reservations. I also do that with Northwest.

Airtran and some other airlines are different and you cannot pick seats until just before the flight. 24 hours for Airtran; less or not at all for other airlines.

We had an odd situation on our flight check in at POP last month. We were flying United and had assigned seats. When the baggage folks printed our boarding passes, they could only get the second part of our flight to print. So we would have to wait in line at MCO. GRRR. I went to the POP concierge and they were able to pull up our flight reservations and print out ALL of our boarding passes. I would think that the resort desks would help you 24 hours before your flight -- they have internet access. I've also heard that the theme parks can help with flight check-ins at the guest services centers.

Good luck.

The hotels do have airport kiosks but twice I've gone to use them and twice they never worked right and I ended up going to the concierge desk and they printed everything for me. Either the machine just froze or some kind of error message would come up. I had seen many people using them without a problem but of course when I want to use it something goes wrong. :confused3

After going to the concierge desk since of course they have the internet access there was not a problem and everything went through and they printed my boarding passes for me. Now I wish the rooms had printers because I had the internet access but no way of printing my boarding pass:scared:

We just flew airtran last week and I paid 5 dollars each way to pre-select my seats. To me it was worth it. When they printed out the boarding passes at the hotel our seat number I had selected were on them.

polyhm83: Is this something new? I have not seen that thru AirTran before. Can you tell me what you did, how did it work, etc.?

Thanks!

:surfweb: We flew Jet Blue and got our boarding passes right at the resort when we were leaving. On Jet Blue, you pick you seats when you make your initial reservations, so we already had our seats.
It was great, we sat 2 and 2. by the way, Jet blue was great too!, our flight was late which would result in missing a connection at JFK, so they put us on an earlier flight and then found volunteers on that flight to change seats so that we could sit 2 and 2 on that flight also:love: they made a dedicated customer out of me:banana:

Does anyone know if you can check-in for your airline at POP? We are flying Jet Blue. I didn't know about this service until I started reading this forum. It sounds great and probably saves a lot of time at the airport!

All the Disney resorts have the airport kiosk. The question is what airlines are listed on there because I know the major ones are but certain ones aren't. But probably at this point all of them are, you just have to check.

When I booked our flights I also picked my seats. It is something new they started. You pay an additional $5 for each seat. I can't remember exactly at what point in the reservation process you do this though. But if you go to their website and click on reservations, then click on find intinerary (you'll need your conf# and some other info.), I think it might allow you to pick seats there. When I pull up my reservation it will allow me to change my seats. If not, just call Airtran directly.

They upped the price this week to $7.50 to choose seats. It's $20.00 for exit row seats!

Yep, Just checked the airtran website- $7.50 to pick your seats- $20 if you want exit and that is per flight with 2 flights, each way that could be pricey for 3 people.

It is free if you book online but you can only do that 24 hours ahead of time online.

Go to AirTran website , pull up your reservation and on the right side of your screen is a link "choose your seats", It shows you what is open and what is'nt when you click on it it tells you hopw much you owe to reserve. It is pricey.
