I just heard on TV this morning that the Airlines are going to be having a huge Airfare War! Yee-hah,that's great news because I know me and lot's of us have been waiting for the airfares to drop for quite awhile. Keep a sharp eye out on prices because it should be soon! Maybe we'll finally see them drop after looking for soooooo long.

or are we talking the next few months?

I hope the prices come down. We are leaving August 8. In the past years our family of four never flew for more than $500 we've been lucky, were able to use friends fly free one year and got a flight from US air for $91 round trip another year(flying out of buf). I'm hoping to pay about $170 this year which i think would be possible when SW opens up their dates.

**Update*
Booked SW for august 8-23 for 926.50 for 5 people roundtrip. Ended up being about 183.00 per ticket.

While I'm hoping to see some drops in the prices, possibly for our July and oct trips, I do believe those dirt cheap prices we got years ago are long gone. With the price of fuel these days, I really have my doubts. I remember just a few years ago flying out of Wash. for $109 rt, and snagging rt tickets for $135. Last year, the best I could do was $163 rt, but now I'm lucky to see $176 out of Dulles (while flying out of BWI is slightly cheaper, it's too far for us to drive to result in a savings). I check EVERYDAY, twice a day.

In addition to airfare, cheaper car rental rates would be good too, because they are running pretty high this year too!

That sounds like great news!::yes:: I have famiily trying to book out of Missoula, MT -Orlando in August and rates have been higher than in other parts of the state. So they have been waiting while some of us have been fortunuate enough to already be booked. Very frustrating for my sister who has been planning this trip for the last 3 years. We've been encouraging her to be patient and hopefully it will pay off.
Thanks for the info.

sweetheart - we are returning on 8/8, but I have been checking the prices of the tickets on all flights around there. We bought for 186, which is about $40 cheaper than we paid last year. This was on Delta, who we find to have the cheapest flights, with the times that work best for us (night flights)

I want to see it drop for the month of April, especially during Easter. I have been looking and looking and keep getting over $500 getting there in the am and returning in the afternoon. I found one for $350 rt pp from dtw to mco. Not too bad, but I want it to come down a little bit more.

UsAir just dropped some of the flights from April to Oct. in the Northeast area....Allentown, and Harrisburg are $89 RT for some flights...

From Southern California to Orlando, airline prices just droppped to $221 RT with all fees included out of Ontario (just 50 miles east of LAX.) I think we're going to book that airfare now! It's $750 RT for LAX to Hawaii and Orlando sounds a lot cheaper!

If you are looking for Easter flights I would NOT expect much of a drop. We are less then three weeks out and unless sales have been much lower then expected I would just not think there is going to be good sale. I would think things are going to go higher!

I just purchased my airfare from Norfolk to Orlando on Delta for $97 round trip, taxes and fees included. :teeth:

I don't know-- right at Christmas CNN was making all sorts of hype about incredible airfare deals. I'll tell ya- the 2 times I have bought airfare this year so far-- they weren't that great. I did get a good rate, but only after I went to a discount line. Still not as good as I got last year though.

I paid almost $450 for 2 RT Buffalo to NYC, last year those same tickets were going $65.00 RT. Also, I paid $525 for 3 RT to Orlando for a few weeks ago. For our October trip I only paid $330 for 3 RT tickets and we flew on Friday too!!

I would love to see the airfare drop alittle!!! I really wanna fit in another WDW trip and 1 additional trip somewhere else this year!!

It's nice to see the airfare dropping. It's been a long time coming too! Airfares from Upstate NY haven't dropped yet but I'm hoping really soon.
$89 RT from Harrisburg,PA is a super-great deal but I don't want to drive 5 Hours to get to the airport.....
I think if we are all patient and wait they will eventually drop.
Last August I got $119 RT (Incs. Taxes/fees) out of Albany,New York. I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

Summer rates out of Minneapolis have continued to climb. Last Thursday my midwest flight was $254.90. The next day (when I booked) it was $263.90. Now it is $284.90 - 1 week later. I don't even want to know what it was when I SHOULD have checked it a few months ago.

I too had been searching and searching and searching for spring break/Easter. Everytime I searched for roundtrip airfare I'd get some outrageous rates. Finally, I just thought of checking on oneway fares and tada up came $77.00 tax included per person oneway through AA from LGA to MCO. Then I kept checking all possible airlines for return flights and finally got a rate of $80.00 per person tax included through Song from MCO to JFK.

So, I'd suggest you try oneway fare searches on every possible airline. Also, for some reason I'd check the rates and 5 minutes later it would either go up or down. The rates change and change so search, search, search!

Hope this helps!
Good luck!

with gas prices going up, we just hit the 2.00 mark.
i dont know, but i hope so:bounce:

I just bought a ticket today $250 RT from San Jose to Orlando on America West with one stop in Phoenix each way. This is for May. I was pretty happy with this price. :) I was hoping to find something around $200, but $250 really isn't bad when you're flying coast to coast like I am. :)

I just bought at $176 RT from ORD to MCO on AA. This previous flight was $294.70 forever. I was surprised in the drop. :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Last year at this time we made reservation for November -- Delta had $135.00 round trip - Minneapolis to Orlando-- we jumped on that really quick.
We are now looking for October, we plan to take 2 of the grandchildren & Delta is $353.50 -- OUCH!! We have been checking Delta because we got voucher for when the price dropped on a different trip. Don't think that we will ever see the $135 again - but it sure would be nice to get it a lot lower than what it is now!!!!! Will keep checking!!!
