Hi everyone!!
I was wondering if anyone could help me. We are trying to fly to dw for 5/31-6/1 out of providence or hartford. We have only flown SW but their flights are extremely high for this time. Did I miss the low prices like $79 or do they not go that low this time a year. I have noticed Jetblue is $99 which really good or could I do better waiting for SW to go lower or wait for a ding and risk not getting a flight. Thanks I would appreicate any help I am new to the dings and not sure how everything works. Thanks so much Amy

I was getting nervous also.
My dates are mid to late August, and until last Satuday, I thought I was fubarred. I made a point to check several times a day, every day, (www.air-fare.com really helped with that.)
I signed up for e-mail from several travel sites, and lo and behold, I finally got an e-mail, (not a ding) from SW, and scored rt tickets from the city I live in (Louisville) ns to Mco for $69 each way.
You just have to be diligent!

We are in central Mass. and always check fares for Hartford, Providence and Boston.

You have to keep checking...even a couple times a day.

We flew to Orlando on Feb. 13 and came home on the 24th.
Even though it was President's Week travel...we were able to find $79 each way. But...we flew Jet Blue going down and Airtran coming home. And those fares were only up for like an hour or two one day before they sold out. Insane!!

When you search...price one way fares on each airline. The websites I use to compare are www.kayak.com and www.sidestep.com. But they don't list some airlines like Southwest. Also...price going down maybe the night before. We did this and even paying for a room one more night was cheaper than taking a flight the next morning.

Hope this helps you. I'm now looking to find decent air for July/August. So the hunt begins again.

Have a great time!!

I suggest trying airtran,sw,and allegiant also, and check local airports like Newburgh, white plains,Ct is a small state, and sometimes a one hour drive is worth the savings-I also like kayak.com which compares lots of fares, including some discount ones too-
