I'm getting frustrated about airfare. We'll be at WDW in just a little over 3 months, and I can't find a good airfare. When Delta announced discounts, our route went up! Last week roundtrip from Louisville to Orlando was $205. This week, same fare is $215.
At 3 months out with dates not flexible, should we bite the bullet, or wait a while? This is the part of planning that I HATE!
Any opinions? thanks!

when you say 3 mths do you mean aug or sep? if its for either you can still wait or buy it now and then when it goes back down get the refund voucher. there will be more sales coming up have you looked at TW/AA fares at all? or is DL the only one you want to fly? are you signed up for any fare trackers? I got one today about TW fares they have some specials going on right now.

We prefer DL and have refund vouchers from last year's trip, but I've been checking all airlines and all are within $10 of Delta's fares. We're going 9/9 to 9/15 which doesn't include a Saturday night, but I've even checked with Saturday night stayover and fares are the same. I'm signed up with Expedia's Fare Tracker, but that's a good suggestion about going with others as well. Thanks for the info!

Hi, on the Delta website, they have indicated that flights are cancelled for the next sixty days due to a work stoppage. I was rally disappointed because when checking Travelocity, I found a fabulous rate for December--$100 less per person! I don't know if that's in anticipation of trying to get back business after the strike, or I've also heard rumors of bankruptcy. Then I don't know what happens to tickets your're holding.

That 60-day cancellation is only for Comair, the regional carrier for Delta. Regular Delta flights are not affected.

I still can't believe comair is even listed as still operational. they have lost 100's of thousands of dollars due to their strike. without a sat night stay you might be wise then to purchase when you see what is a good fare and then if it goes down get the refund vouchers again.

Thanks for the clarification! So it looks like I should probably stay away from comair?Usually rt air from Milwaukee to Orlando hovers @$210 to $230. I was ecstatic to see $136. Guess if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Since this thread seems to be about Comair, I have some concerns also. We have tickets in Oct with a comair connection and it appears we may have problems too. Delta says they will not re-ticket till 60 days out. I have been watching all other airlines out of our airport and the prices keep climbing and the availability keeps getting smaller. Should we DEMAND Delta refund us. We can get AA and PanAm and if we wait they will probably put us on AA to BOS then on Delta Express to Orlando. WE HATE Delta Express! DH says he'll stay home first. What should we do? Also, has anyone visited Delta's web site lately and seen a new section with a Delta connection called ASA? It kind of resembles Comair and they use the same planes and the web connection says they are adding more planes and hiring more pilots? HMMM??????? Any insiders or anyone else notice these similarities? I hate to quit Delta but they are giving us little choice.

I've flown ASA before on DL into Valdosta GA and they weren't bad at all and that was with a 1 yr old. their flt ended up getting cancelled on the return portion and they were wonderful to me about putting me on another carrier once in atlanta. this is the only carrier into valdosta!once the time gets closer they will reacommodate you on another carrier if necessary at no additional collection of monies to you. http://www.onetravel.com/advisor/AR...K=3&Lang=English&Token=NULL&Style=1&Modules=Y|Y|Y|Y|Y|Y|Y|Y|Y|Y|Y|Y|Y
you can also go to this sight and check to see all the rules of the air.

msds..... Why do you hate Delta Express?!?!? We are going Sept 14 on Delta Express. Should I be worried?

k9pal....I wanted to let you know that we bought my parents their tickets the last week of April for 205.50 leaving from Louisville Sept 20. Then on May 9 for a few hours they was down to 175.50, so I called and got vouchers for them. That same day it went back up to 190.50. During this time I was looking for tickets for us for Sept 14, they never went any lower than 190.50 so I tried to wait. When they went up to 215.50 I bought them, now I am hoping they will go down so I can get vouchers. I hope this will help you someway!

Peggy S., thanks for the info. And we love Delta Express, simply because we don't have to deal with Atlanta! :) And now DE has a flight down at 7 AM that will put us in Orlando at 9:30. YEAY! Almost a full day! Our past 2 trips we have taken DE from Orlando back to Louisville - always on time, never any problem.

Now a question for Beverly Lynn, who seems to be a wealth of info on this subject - I like E-ticketing because it's easy and convenient and I can pick our seats. Since I have refund vouchers (actually, I don't "have" them, they're in Delta's computer system), do I have to call Reservations for tickets? Or is there some way to use vouchers on-line?
Thanks for everyone's help!

Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. Here's why we prefer to not fly Delta Express or any other 727, 737 flights. The seats are cramped and they seat 3 across. There are only 2 of us and to get up out of our seats means having to move the person on the end( I have to have a window,it's part of the fear of flying). We spent 1 very long trip with a woman with LOTS of perfume and every time my DH had to get out I thought between her glares and sighs she was going to kill him. I never moved the whole trip. So we decided to aviod this and before I ever book any flights I always check the plane configuration and get 2 seats alone now. It's nothing against Delta Express, it's just the planes they use, which I'm sure is great seating for a lot of families. Sorry I didn't elaborate more in my first post.
