I am planning on going to Aulani in June 2017. I was wondering on any advice for getting deals on airfare. When we flew to Alaska few years ago we spent about 1000.00 per person round trip and we are a family of 6 so I am hoping we can find better deals than that. We are flying out of tampa but if deals are better at orlando we can do that too. Anyone flown out of FL before?

Also thinking about on the way there to break up the flight to do 2 or 3 nights at disneyland. I saw a few people have done this before. Would love to know if you felt it was a good idea or not?

We are in the middle of the country. The best we have found from here in the summer is about $1400 per person and I've been watching. Our plan is to stop at DL on the way back to break up the time change and get used to it on the way home (and because we have been going to DL in the summer for the last 5 or 6 years and we would miss it). I have been pricing flights and it is about the same price for me to book separate legs and go that, as it would be to just book round trip tickets. I was worried it would be a lot more, but it isn't. I think if we tried to stop at DL on the way there, we would all be too excited to get to Hawaii since we have never been.

We are going for our second time in May. Last time we flew to LAX, stayed at Disneyland 4 nights, then flew to HNL, and it was great. We are doing the same thing this time. Coming home, we flew to LAX, then back to Orlando, and that is what we are doing again. Coming home is what gets you, with the time change, but we need to get home and back to reality.

How is the airfare priced that you have found?

We are using sky miles to LX and back, so I really can't say. We upgraded to fist class on Hawaiian air and I thing it was about $1000 each. We decided to splurge for extra legroom and footrests :)
