Airfare out of Philly (PHL)

I just contacted USAir when I saw the price for my flight had dropped and while they said they couldn't issue a credit to my Visa card, they would send me a voucher for the difference to use on a future domestic flight. The catch is, that once I book the next flight, I have to go to a USAir ticket agent within 24 hrs. to turn in the voucher. This means,for instance, if I book another flight this Sat. on the phone and want to apply the voucher to the price, I have to go to a USAir ticket agent by closing on Sun. to present the voucher and pick up my ticket. It is a bit of a hassle, but it may be worth it.

Thanks all!! I booked yesterday!!!

I never knew about USAir offering vouchers if the price drops. That is what absoulutely convinced me to book. So now lets all cross fingers that all of our flights drop in price so we can get vouchers and all use it as an excuse to return to the world.

Next stop, getting myself a counter for my signature.

Thanks for the info roemc and safetymom. I'm going to call USAirways right after I pick up DD from kindergarten.

Disneyfam and disneysnowflake -- how far outside of State College are you? I'm originally from that general area (Elk county) and we now have a cabin in Clearfield County.

I actually live in State College! yep, graduated from PSU, stayed, and now work for the University. I'm originally from Altoona so I didn't stray too far from home.

You are correct about showing up at a US Air Ticket agent to turn in the vouchers within 24 hrs.

We did this about a week ago. We went right to the Philadelphia Airport. They reconfirmed our flights and cost. They gave us total payment due, then we presented vouchers, they then reconfirmed new prices and we paid for them and they gave us our tickets and seat assignments. We were surprised, there was no one in the airport on a Saturday during a holiday weekend.
We parked in short term parking and we were in and out in less than 1/2 hr. Cost for parking was 5.00.
