Airfare or Deluxe resort delima???

Boy 7, Girl 11. We are planning to do the MVMCP if it isnt sold out when we get there. I also want to go over to Ft wilderness and do the back yard barbecue, but i am a little concerned about the weather this time of year. That is the only xtra thing we had planned so far. I really dont want to book to many things. we arent going to be there but 5 nights. A friend of mine just got back from WDW and said the backyard barbecue was the hi-light of their 8 day trip!!

Generally it is possible to get a very good rate at WL. You can get a room with one queen-size bed and a set of bunk beds, so the kids won't have to share. The value resorts have only two double beds.

The weather has always been great for us when we go at that time of year. The days usually get warm enough for shorts (with sweatshirts in the early ams to be tied around our waists later) The evenings cool off so we usually wear slacks/jeans/sweatshirts or light jackets for evening jaunts (read Illuminations, evening resort hopping, evening DtD shopping...)

This is just a general guideline...I remember one time we were there then and it was very hot! The two times it ever got very cold at night happened at the middle of January and the end of January (lol...and my husband reminds me once in February).

I would stay with your original budget because you are going to want to use that extra money to buy things. You have no idea how enticing the Disney merchandising can be - especially at Christmas.

Do make sure you resort hop to look at the decorations at the Deluxe hotels - BWI, Grand Floridian and WL at a minimum.

At that age, your kids would love PC. My daughter was not happy when I booked a moderate last year instead of AS Movies. The icons are so fun!!! I would never drive 9 hours though so everyone is different. For us part of the fun is flying and not having to drive anywhere for 10 days. I only wish we had more direct flights from our city.
