It is for me. Just spent 122 more than last year for August from NY, one way, for three people. This is actually 84 less than it originally came out at, so I figured better to buy now than watch it go up. Is it the same for those traveling earlier this year?

This year's August fares were 30% more than we paid last year.

Both years non-stop flights with Jetblue from Syracuse

2013 = $330 pp
2014 = $438 pp

:headache:

Our airfares from BOS or PVD to MCO this year have been the same or less than last year.

Yes, I believe airfares have gone up. What I also noticed is when I was looking at airfare, if I choose the cheapest for departure, that was fine but returning flights were A LOT more expensive. Sometimes as much as $200. It's been on the news that airlines are planning on adding more seating. I can't wrap my head around how uncomfortable this is going to be. You think if they're adding more seats to give them more money, they would pass that savings onto us? I don't think so.

Well for one you can thank the consolidation of airline mergers which means less routes and that equals more demand on remaining flights thus equaling higher prices. Another factor is the improving economy which again leads to people traveling more and thus demands on certain destinations.

We are departing from Manchester, NH for Feb. vacation and have the cheapest fares I ever remember, $201 n/s, r/t on Southwest.

WOW!! Manchester is our home airport as well. Did you book the minute the dates were released? We are booked for May at $300 rt, ns and it's not even a school vacation

I'm going in Feb. because the airfare is the lowest I've seen. I fly Delta to Minneapolis and on from there. It's so nice to leave from my home town instead of getting back and forth from the cities. I've paid more previously for just MSP to MCO.

I'm flying on southwest in a few weeks and think we did well with price. From pittsburgh to ft lauderdale (going on the Wonder out of Miami) & we paid $198 RT.

I almost booked the day flights were released (mid June) but they were 320+ and I got frustrated. Ended up getting a good price in October.

I've been looking at SW or JetBlue in early May for several weeks now. Our preferred flights are direct flights-- early morning there & early evening return. Prices are pretty high compared to the last several years, around $450 PP rt. :crazy2:

A few years ago I paid $200-225 rt. We fly from Buffalo & SW & JB are pretty much the only options for direct flights. So much for them being "low cost carriers". ;)
