I've been watching Jetblue & Song airfare almost daily or nightly as the cas may be. It's been around $227. round trip, but was $160. previously. last year for about the same time of year I got a rate of $180. So I was waiting for them to come down again, as it got closer. I just went on and checked and they are listing at apprx. $200. ea. way!!!! I have 6 tix to purchase. Does anyone know if either airline usually come down closer to departure day? We are leavin June 24. We may actually end up driving. I wanted to do that, but not this year as we are bringing a friend and have a 23mnt by then.
Someone PLEASE give me good news.

Not sure about jetblue, they've not been flying out of Boston long enough. Song has been wacky. We bought our tickets for Feb School Vacation last year at the 331 day mark for each one-way flight, and are paying ~$250R/T non-stop, for school vacation week and I don't think that's too bad. These same flights were up over $600 about 10 months out. They went up, they went down, and about a month ago, were holding steady at around $300 RT. Right now, our flight down is $299 one way, and you could either fly home on Thursday the 24th, or Monday the 29th. All the flights Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are fully booked, and off Song's website. (BTW this is for BOS to RSW{Ft Myers}).

With all my longwindedness being said, I suspect that $200 might be about the best you're going to do, especially if you are flying home close to July 4th.

Not sure if I helped, or added to the confusion........

flights out of boston have been wacky lately...not just to mco but everywhere...keep looking everyday....good luck.

I have 2 ideas for you-
1- check out www.spiritair.com or travelocity
2-consider flying out of Greene in Rhode Island- about 45 minutes from Norwood and easy to get in and out of.

what are your travel dates June 23 to what? Are you staying over a weekend? THis can help a rate go down too.

depending on the fares when southwest finally reveals theirs, your flights may still go down... if swa undercuts, song and jetblue will most likely follow suit... so, since swa fares are not released yet for your dates, you might still be in luck for getting lower rates...

good luck and hang in there!

I can't see that Spirit flies to Orlando from Providence, only to Fort Lauderdale!

American Airlines is offering $166 per person round trip (I plugged in 6/23-29 just to see what rates would be)
This was at www.travelocity.com

Why not do what I do. I just checked your date of June 24 and found out if you fly out on Jetblue on the 23rd at 6:40pm or so its only $79 +taxes. I put in July 3 for a return date on Song and the flights run for $69-$79 +tax. I think that is a pretty good amount as these are both Non stop. Take the $$ you save on the flight and you can pay for the extra nights hotel no problem. :goodvibes

I am doing this for my trip May 23 to May 31st. $165.10 round trip for each of us.

BTW im from Brockton just south of Boston. :cool1:

I went the same week last year, 6/26-7/4. We started watching flights around CHristmas time, and they were about $220... THey went higher and higher, and by May they were over $300 (non stop, round trip out of Newark) My dh and I ended up flying out of Philly for $230 each. This year we're going to WDW in March, and paid $220 out of Newark. Not the same flight is almost $400...

PS- If you're going to be there for 7/4, DON'T go into the MK! It was a mad house!

No good news from this direction, at least regarding flying out of Boston. Note that Song does spell out their pricing policy pretty clearly on their website (www.flysong.com); the deal is they sell out the cheap seast first, and once they're gone, the price goes up to the next rung on the ladder. Yes there are certainly exceptions, like when they add a new flight to the route, or when there is a sale, but in my observation they have stuck pretty closely to it. Of course, last week I was caught offguard when they had a sale on Monday, when I had bought my tix (for October) on Sunday; so if I had waited a day, I'd have saved $20 a ticket ($80 for the 4 of us). But given how full the BOS-MCO flights we wanted are already for Columbus Day, I see these prices going nowhere but up.

So Deesknee, you may have a flight from PVD in your future, or maybe JetBlue from Logan bcs Song is not likely to come back down, IMO. YMMV. Good luck!

Funny you should mention staying a few extra days. Originally we were only going for 5 nights. Then I played with dates (this is around Nov.) noticed the dates 6/24 & 7/1 were lower so we figured (exactly what you said) use the $ we save as hotel accom. Great idea except I didn't book the flights at that time because Christmas was right around the corner. Now I have the accom & no flight.LOL I'm all for adding a couple of nights, but I don't think DH will go for it again.LOL :rolleyes1

BTW Rockland here!

We booked our American Airline flight back in October for April 1-8 at $168 non-stop R/T per person, 3 tickets. They changed our flight time to an hour later on the way down and 2 hours earlier on the way back, no big deal for us. The same flight is now priced at $532 R/T per person.
$200 non-stop R/T per person for 6 is a good deal if they can get you all on the same plane.
Good luck.
