Has anyone else seen that banner for the airfare book and how to slash prices and so on? I was just reading the link. He charges $25 for the book. Just wondering if it is legit and if anyone has ordered or seen it?

Well, to be honest, if you search yourself enough on the internet and maybe even make a few calls, you'll find that you can get ALL of this information yourself. No, I wouldn't pay for the book - not that it's not good, who knows - but all the same info is at the tip of your own fingers.

So have you seen the book or are you just guessing in general?

I have seen the book (as well as many others like it), I do believe that MOST people either KNOW the info it contains or can access it for free. Maybe for some who don't want to research fares or know how to go about using various websites, it might be good for ideas for some (why I do the who knows thing!) but it will NOT guarantee that you will find cheaper.

For me, if there's NO guarantee and you can get all the info for free, there's not a purpose to purchase something like that. If it contained a huge travel voucher that a major airline in my area was honoring (without severe restrictions), I'd grab it.

If you need education on how to research to find the rates - ask someone who does it regularly or grab a book at B&N or Borders to walk you through it. There's a great one out there by Wendy F(errin or Perrin maybe?) but it's a bit dated.

Oh - and I should tell you my loving father purchased the same book in the hopes of taking care of airfare for my daughter's birthday trip this coming October (we're doing hotel and park tickets so he thought he would try to help and do that part.)

So, I wouldn't discourage anyone who is not internet-savvy or travel-savvy, it could help some of those people. But his work after getting the book wasn't as good as mine with a few calls and internet visits.
