We're flying into SNA on July 27th at 8:00 pm, driving to Carlsbad and spending 3 nights at The West Inn and Suites. The plan is to go to Legoland on the Wednesday and Friday (one day for the rides and one day for the new water park) and Thursday will be a beach day. Drive Friday afternoon (leave Legoland around 2:00) to San Diego, staying at the Omni. Padres game on Saturday (5:35 start time)...but that's all we have planned so far in SD. We know that we want to do a Trolley tour, go to Sea World and go to the Zoo. But...we're leaving for Anaheim on Monday afternoon.

So...between Friday at 3:00 and Monday at 3:00 we need to get in Seaworld, the Zoo, and a trolley tour...what order would you do that in? Is the trolley tour worth it? It seemed like a good way to see things like Coronado Island...but maybe not?

We're in Anaheim from Monday-Saturday (early so we can't count that day). We're planning on only doing DL in Anaheim so I'm not concerned if we don't get there until late on Monday--can still go to the park, do a few rides and maybe dinner and then do a full day Tuesday as our first real disney day.

Thanks for the planning help!

I would use Monday for Sea World (I think you will get a lot more enjoyment than going on a very busy weekend day). You will only be trading off one night at DL. OR get a two day SeaWorld pass and go Sunday and part of Monday???.
I would do the zoo on Saturday before the game, and use Friday evening for sightseeing/trolley tour.

Just my two cents.

Steve

Thank you for your suggestions!

Do you think SeaWorld is going to be a lot quieter on a Monday? I wasn't sure...just figured it would always be busy because it's summer.

Just adding my two cents. Are you taking children if so I would vote for Seaworld over the trolley tour. The Zoo is a must do. If you want to go to Coronado to see the Hotel Del you can always get a cab from the Omni.:thumbsup2.There is also a a ferry boat that leaves almost hourly to Coronado

princess:

(the princess is for my daughter who is helping me type)

I am taking kids--they are 4 and 7.

I think we have things sort of figured out...

Trolley tour on Friday...Zoo on Saturday before the game...Sea World on Sunday...that leaves Monday to have a 2nd shot at something we love--either SW or the zoo.

Have a great time. There is a sit down restaurant at the Zoo called Alberts(?)We had a very good lunch there.
They were giving 10% off coupons in May.It made a nice break from walking around.
Don't forget to use the Zoo buses if they are part of your ticket.
The Zoo is VERY hilly.
We were in Carlsbad for a day and had a good reasonably price lunch at a place called the Daily News Cafe.:thumbsup2 It was only open for breakfast and lunch

Please let me know how the West Inn turns out. We aren staying there for 4 nights in Sept. It looks very nice, and I like the location. Let me know if it's near the beach too. It would be great to be able to take the kids on a walk there from the hotel.

I will definitely update when we get home!

Thanks for the tip on the zoo...we're taking our double stroller (I know, our daughter is 7--but our son is 4...so we'll take it and our daughter will be happy later in the day when she's tired of walking!) so hopefully it will help with those hills. Or we'll just take the bus around the zoo...we'll see!

I am still wanting to do the trolley tour, but it isn't cheap! I've tried finding some coupons online but no luck. It's $30/adult and $15/child a day. I think we may still do it our first day, then the zoo our 2nd day (along with the Padres game) and Sea World our 3rd day.

Check at the Omni if you don't have any luck before leaving home.Sometime Hotels will have discounts for tours.
