AIREAL--for Avatarland?

Wow!!! This is absolutely mind boggling...I can't wait to see (or feel) this!

Could be really interesting, I'm looking forward to see how they implement this technology. Interesting potential.

That does look pretty neat, but...

Nothing in any of those articles says it's destined for Avatarland.

I'm one of the many people who are NOT interested in Avatarland. Whatever Disney does next - especially if it has cool interactive stuff like that - will probably be worth seeing, but I still don't think the Avatar theme is very good. I'd rather see this sort of technology saved for something more interesting.

I wonder if this will get combined with the interactive plant technology. Seems like a great fit with Avatar. I am looking forward to seeing what they will do with this whole idea.

obviously this would be cool for star wars but suck for avatar

obviously im being sarcastic beer dave..looks cool!

most sensible people im sure will be somewhat openminded on a project that has not been created yet

it still amazes m that when anybody post an article about this project that the same core people come into it to say the same silly argument.....let it go and wait...clearly you cant judge a ride/land before you know anything about it

~OMG, this is just fabulous for Avatarland! Just think of the possibilities! Thanks for sharing this beer dave. :cool1:

~This! That is all. :cool1:

Its good to find the company of some open minded people.
I don't care where they use this or any new technology as long as they give us new technology. All the complaints about Disney falling behind universal with the expansions and copying old tech, and when new tech is introduced, that's not good either. Some times you can't please anyone.

There's a RUMOR (to be clear) out there somewhere that Avatar land may be in a giant dome to provide inside space at AK. That would suck too.

I have heard that it might be a giant show building so its basically always night time

that sounds good to me-- I always liked the feel of the mexico pavilion for that reason. we used to forget it was day time. and it would never rain on the new technology.

Hmmm I kinda like the idea of a inside space, no worries about weather. If you did a dome, you could project on the ceiling to create the illusion of an alien sky/atmosphere , then combine that with interactive plants and the aireal tech I think could be the start to creating an amazing tactile and visual experience...

Sounds perfect and almost limitless...

And for the record, I'm not saying its not cool technology. I'm not saying it doesn't have potential. I'm just saying that no matter what new stuff they throw at Avatarland, it will still be Avatar.

~So when you ride Splash Mountain, do you exit the ride and think "I don't care what Disney did it's still just Song of the South?" Is Tower of Tower just the Twilight Zone on steroids? By this logic, Rock n Roller Coaster is just Aerosmith on wheels. Right?

~Anyway, this is the first I've heard about the "dome." That would be so fabulous, but so expensive -- I don't know if half a bill will cut it. We'll see.

~ETA: No, the dome makes sense -- we've already seen the sketches of the boat ride and the 3D simulator ride -- both of which can be easily encompassed by the dome along with the glowing plants & floating mountains. Ugh.. pure genius. This could very well be Animal Kingdom's version of The Land at Epcot! :cool1:
:goodvibes
