We have driven down on our last few trips but we are flying down next month and again in Dec and usually planes and fall/winter=colds. I heard some people talk about taking Airborne and although some people say it doesn't work I figured it couldn't hurt. I happened to run across it while at Target and thought what the heck.

So my question is WHEN do you take it? It tells you how much and how often but not WHEN. Like do you take it an hour before your trip or the day before or what? And do you take it another 3 hours later if you start to feel sick or is one dose good enough?

We have been lucky and not gotten sick in awhile but last time we went to Florida we all got pretty nasty colds and I am not sure if it was the plane ride or the climate change and I got REALLY sick one Oct (stomach virus) and I DON'T wish to repeat THAT ever again. So my theory is always better safe than sorry.

TIA

here is what I do..
1. Take night before flight!
2. take morning of flight
3. Take first night in the hotel.
4. Then while on vacation I take every other day and then once again when I get home from the flight!
I swear by this product and even if it may only be in my mind I think it saves me from a cold and sometimes when I take it I feel a rush of energy an hour or so afterwards!
Heck it can't hurt ya only help!

Hi! My name is DangerMouse, and I'm a germaphobe!

I always take Airborne the first morning of my trip to DLR. If I were flying, I would take it before I board the plane. Then on subsequent days I take an Emergen-C packet in the mornings. This seems to really help keep me healthy at least while I'm there. Of course, Disneyland is "The Germiest Place on Earth," so no guarantees you won't bring something home with you.

I also have my family wash their hands a lot and we use hand santizer (just the alcohol kind) inbetween some rides -- especially where their hands have been on rails and chains throughout the ques.

Yeah I bought a bunch of those little bottles of hand sanitizer and someone even told me to put neosporin in your nose but since you can't bring gels in your carryon anymore I panicked. So do you just take the one tablet before you get on the plane and then one 3 hours later or just one a day every day of your trip? Sorry I am confused? And I bought enough for the whole gang so I was wondering too for them.

We have had very good luck with it. We started using it when my daughter was born with a heart condition and we could not let her get sick, so we could not get sick either. We took it before going to any crowded place, and took it right away if we thought we had been around someone sick. We also have the little mini purell bottles in the jelly holders attached to everyone and ever bag we carry so we clean our hands after every shopping cart, door handle, or DL ride. DH and I have managed not to get sick since before Nov 2004, so we must be doing something right.

I just flew last month, and I was allowed a quart-sized ziploc full of my liquids/gels in my carry-on luggage. As long as the containers are under 3 oz, and can fit in that ziploc bag, they are allowed on.

You can bring stuff on the plane, as long as it is 3 oz and under...

I bring clorox wipes on every flight, and as soon as we are to our row, I turn off the air, and wipe everything down (takes about 3 wipes), all the seat belt buckles, the window wall, the armrests, the trays (front and back...) and all the buttons and knobs above me...

We also do emergen-c (my hubby and I), and I try to make sure DD washes her hands lots and drinks lots of fluids... DD has been on 20+ plane rides, and with crazy mommy, we don't get sick.

has anyone ever wiped down the rides in DL? I did that one year and everyone looked at me like crazy! Do the cm's clean the arm rests etc often?

Hi, My name is DangerMouse, and I'm not nearly as much of a germaphobe as Lori is. :lmao: :rotfl:

Seriously, I'm sure the CM's don't clean the arm rests during the day. The rides only get cleaned overnight. That's why I use hand sanitizer between rides.

Wow you guys! U are bad. My BF just had a heart transplant ( 9 months ) and we travel with the had gel as well as wipes as well as spray ect ect ect. I now have dry skin so am changing that up a bit. As for airborne its been a life saver as I can get just about every thing. I work in the airline indus. so, Ive been using this for about three years. Its all natural so you cant OD on it so use it like u would cold med every four to six hours. I buy in bulk at Costco :teacher: they also have a travel powder that you can add to your bottle of water, and they have a night time formula.:grouphug:

Don't do what I did the first time I took it. I heard to take it before flying and I was so sick of always getting sick after flying. I went to the drugstore and was all ready to fight away the germs.
I get on the plane, we taxi down the runway and I popped one in my mouth. The people around me got quite nervous as I was foaming at the mouth:scared: :scared: :scared:
My family was:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I had no water with me.
Anyway, I still use but drop it into water first!!!!!
We all swear it works and we come home healthy now!

2 too 2 too 2 too funnnnnnnnnnny! :rotfl:
Almost lost something reading this and then again to my DH and DS!:lmao:

I use Emergen-C, b/c I don't like artificial sweeteners. Which Airborne has. So...not 100% natural.

I'm NOT a germaphobe at all, the chemicals in hand sanitizers scare me FAR more than any germ could, but I do like to boost my immune system so I can handle the germs better. So we'll take Emergen-C before times of stress, and during them if we feel a bit run down.
