I am looking into taking airborne for me and my family as we leave in 8 days!! I have never taken this before, and dont know when to start taking it and for how long. I havent looked at the box/instructions yet- will have to hit WalMart again :sad2: . Do kids take a smaller dose or 1/2 dose? Can you still take vitamins with it or is that overdosing? We are taking a multi vitamin right now with an extra vitamin C tablet. I am just so worried about the kids or DH and myself catching something. Thanks for any info from those who have taken it.

I take this at the first sign of a cold coming. Yes you can give it to a child, I think the box says give 1/2 a dose. I break the tablet in half. I will take Airborne for a full day, every three hours I think. So far that has worked for me. I think last time I was at the store they make now airborne for children too.

I haven't taken it before any trips, but might before we go in June.

I have been taking Airborne for six+ years and I usually start my family on it 4-5 days prior to leaving. That way our bodies are building up extra immunities prior to going. I would do one tablet a day until your day of flight. I usually have everyone take a dose prior to flight in morning and again in the evening. I do the same with our flight home.

They have a specific childrens dose, but yes, you can halve the adult dose for children. I also make sure I have anti-bac wipes that I take through the parks to wipe our hands before eating as well as using Purell after wiping.

No, it isn't a problem to take your regular multivitamin and extra vit C while you are down there. I would probably not take the extra C on flight days only because there is a big dose in the Airborne and too much Vit C can cause loose stools. It won't hurt you, I would probably take, but I'm thinking about your kids and making sure they don't have bathroom issues the day your flying.

This has kept us healthy our last two trips. My son was very sick 3 years ago with the vomiting/diarrhea thing and I always panic when were leaving to make sure everyone is doing their job to stay healthy and wiping their hands down when they are there.

Hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to send me a message if you need further instruction.

We all took this before our last trip. The children's airborne is Grape flavored, they didn't think it was too bad. We got the tablets for all of us, but if you can find the powder that you can just pour in a bottle of water i would say get that..it dissolves so much easier.

If you have Meijer's in your area, their version is on sale for $3. I picked up the orange flavored box. Dd takes a 1/2 each night (she likes it warmed) and I take one. There are only 10 tablets in the box.
