Air Tran web site is soooo screwed!

AHHHHH I just had to get this off my chest! The web site sucks! The flight that I need will be there one second, and then be gone the next, then be there, now when i am ready to book it's gone! What is one to do, sit at the computer ALL night long. Yuck!

I have never had problems either. It always lists all flights and simply takes off the lowest priced flights as they get booked up. Maybe they were doing some updates or something last night.

I have always found their site pretty easy to use and very consistent.

Airtran got my irritation factor going when I booked the only non-stop flight each direction for my Oct. trip - and then a week later they discontinued those non-stop flights and put me on something else! Had I not seen that and contacted them - no telling when they would've notified me of the change.

I have noticed that Orbitz will bring up a different price (lower) on a flight that Airtran shows as sold out or really expensive. Maybe try them?

I think this sort of problem is not unique to Airtran. I've encountered this many times on serveral other airline sites, as well as many of the online travel sites. Seems to be more an issue of the day of the week, and time of day when you're trying to make the purchase. Usually late at night based on USA East Coast time, and middle of the week.

Just had this very issue with Continental, and Orbits last week Wednesday when trying to book a 6:30pm flight to Houston. It wouldn't show as available on Continentals site, showed as available on Orbits. However, when selecting this flight on Orbits and attempting to purchase it the flight was no longer available. Then, I look at Continental again and its available. Trying to purchase it and its gone.

Next morning for me, which is about Noon Eastern time, everything was fine. Flights were there and the purchase could be made. I see this regularly because of the significant time difference.

Are you by any chance changing the number of passengers? For instance, did you enter 1 passenger just to look up the fare but then enter 2 or 4 when you went to book?

They only alot so many seats per fare. This has happened to me. Ended up having to book 3 people at one rate & 1 person at another.
