Air Tran question about snacks ?

This will be the first time we fly with Air Tran. On their website I can find out all the beverages they serve but nothing about snacks. On NWA/Delta they offered snack boxes and bags of snacks for purchase. Does anyone that has flown Air Tran recently know if they offer any food for purchase?

My kids like the little snack boxes and it keeps them quiet for awhile so if they do not I will pick up something after the checkpoint.

You're right - they mention that they serve snacks, but don't seem to specify what they are. I would play it safe and either bring snacks or buy them at the airport. They'll be better anyway than what AirTran serves.

Airtran serves small bags of pretzels in coach and have a selection of cookies and chips in business class. I haven't seen any box snacks for purchase lately. If your kids need more than a few pretzels, I would go ahead and purchase something.

Thanks. I will pick something up for the kids then. On NWA/delta you could buy a small can of Pringles, or a dried fruit trail mix bag. In the box there was a selection of a cracker, cookies (even Oreos) and cheese with a salami or something like that.

We got some little cookies the last time we flew instead of pretzels. I always have some extra snacks in the kids backpacks.

I think that your decision to pick up something for the kids after passing security would be a good one to make. Have a safe and happy trip.

The two times I have flown Airtran, they are no longer serving pretzels.

It was a biscuit smaller than the size of a cracker.

FYI, you don't have to wait until after security to buy snacks. Food can be taken through the TSA checkpoint as long as it isn't a gel or liquid. It will be a heck of a lot cheaper to get it before than to buy in the terminal or on the aircraft....

Our next flight is at 6am. Well before the restaurant opens in our terminal, so we will be bringing breakfast bars, donuts, or something for breakfast.....

Our flight is from 11:28am to 2:02pm, so right over lunch time. You would think the airlines would capitalize on this! lol

We have found that AirTran serves either pretzels or the Biscoff biscuits. I think what they serve depends on origin. We have found that flights out of Dayton they serve the biscuits, but anything out of Atlanta is pretzels. Though perhaps there is no pattern to this at all. We prefer the biscuits over the pretzels.

I don't think there is any pattern really. I've flown Air Tran in late August, early Sept, mid Oct, and early Dec this year and have gotten pretzels twice and the Biscoff biscuits three times. This is flying Dallas to Orlando each time.

I think there is a pattern. We flew Air Tran in 2008 and to MCO of our 2009 trip. We always had a layover and were always served the other snack to what we got on the first part of the trip.
