I went on their website to see about carry-ons. Our plan is to carry on the small "pilot case" type suitcases. I just have to measure ours to be sure that they meet the criteria. Then it says you can take a personal item. Would a backpack be considered a personal item? How about the Disney World tote bags they were selling two years ago w/ a purchase? I was planning on taking my tote bag, and having my kids each take a back pack. I hope this is "allowed", as I don't want any checked bag surprises at the airport!

Each passenger is allowed a smaller 'carry-on' size piece of luggage, probably what you mean by "pilot case" type, plus a personal item such that it can fit under the seat. As I recall, AT's carry on size is very generous compared with other carriers.
