Air Tran... can anyone help me?

I've seen it posted around here that Air Tran will cancel your flight if the iternary changes.

I'm not looking to cancel, but was wondering since they messed with take off times, will they change a flight time, to my advantage.... i.e. w/out penalty.


If so, how do I word my conversation?

Last year, I was flying with my kids non-stop to Orlando on Airtran. Maybe a month or so out from my trip we got word that our flights had been changed, both to connecting flights. The crazy thing was that one of the original flights was cancelled but one was not and we'd been bumped. I called right away and asked for my seats on the still existing flight and asked to be put on the other non-stop flight that still existed that day. I played the old, "I'm flying alone with 2 kids" card. They gave me both flights that I asked for. There was no charge since they changed the flights in the first place.

I would call and nicely say 'I have 4 tickets on the Airtan flight from xxx to MCO on xx date. The flight I booked was for 9am and I notice there is no longer a 9am flight and that our reservation was changed to the 10am flight. That flight will not work with our travel plans. Can you move us to the 7am flight instead? I assume there is no charge for this as the time change was out of our control.' Something like that. Good luck!

every time I fly airtran, they change the times slightly and I have rebooked the flight to a different flight free of charge. I have even switched airports because I liked the schedule better out of the other airport.
There only thing is you can't change the names on the reservation.

Just remember- they switched the flights that you purchased....so really, you HAVE TO ACCEPT them in order for them to still have these seats 'sold' to you.

Just tell them that changes have been made that are unacceptable and then tell them what would be more acceptable (earlier flight, different flight, night before flight). I have often had to ask for a supervisor but the most recent time the supervisor didn't even ask any questions just asked what I wanted instead...It was easy when I got to that level.

Just stick to your guns. Polite but Firm.

This and other things have happened to us on Air Tran and they have always been very good to work with, they will be willing to work with your schedule for sure.
