Air Tran Booking question

First some information about our party. We're looking to book our flight in June with a party of 5. My brother, sister-in-law, 2 nieces (4 and 1-1/2), and me (the 5th wheel ). We're currently leaning towards AirTran (better price), but the plane is virtually empty so were not in a huge rush to book, in hope that better deals come up.

Now here is my question about booking. My brother will be booking the flight, but I'm not sure if we're better off having him book me also, or am I better off booking mine right after he books his? If he does all the booking we can reserve our seats together (I'm aware of the extra charge) and know that we have the flight. Are there any issues or problems that I should be aware of going this route? Of am I better of booking my ticket separately?

Also, any suggestions of where to sit on the plane? It will be the girls first flight so you never know how they will react to the plane. The 1-1/2 year old will be seated on our laps if that makes any difference.

One issue you could have with separate bookings is if there is a flight change, they could rebook you on different flights.

No real pluses or minuses to booking together or separately. It would probably be easiest to have your bother just book you when he books the others. My suggestion is to just pay the lowest fee for assigned seats. I think that fee is $6.

I didn't think there would be a problem if he bought all the tickets, but as an adult I have always bought my own tickets and wasn't sure if there were possible security issues or anything else.

I also may want to upgrade to business class if they were available at the 24 hour time before the flight. I would probably never do this, but would there be any issues with switching the business class seat with my brother or sister-in-law if they need a short break from the kids? Also, are totters allowed in business class?

Probably wouldn't upgrade ticket, but the option is always nice. Also, if it happens to be a $69 upgrade, the two free checkin bags, reimbursement of seat selection and extra room only ends up costing around $20 more.

Also, wouldn't bring my toddler niece up to business class, was just interested in wether or not it was allowed.
