Air New Zealand Premium is it any good?

I may be biased (live in New Zealand) but I do rate AirNZ premium as a good product and good value on the long haul planes. Seats are comfortable- they used to have a weird angled 'space seat' but after low reviews they have been replaced with a traditional seat with added legroom and recline. Service and meals and also a step up from economy. You do not have access to lounge (that is business class only) but you do have priority boarding. I consistently choose to fly AirNZ over any other airline when given a choice- I am always really pleased with each flight and always disappointed with other carriers.

I have never flown Cathay Pacific, but we flew AirNZ in December from DC to Australia in Premium Economy and were very happy with the seats and the service. We have flown Premium Economy on several other airlines including Air France and Lufthansa, and felt AirNZ compared very favorably. Also, on the way over on one flight (the long haul from Houston to Auckland) we used their SkyCouch product which is in the economy cabin and thought it was terrific, particularly for flying with children.
