I am looking to use some air miles on our hotel stay while we are in Florida. As we are planning on going at Christmas time I would like to book our hotel now as it is available and fear it won't be as the time approaches. We used AM last time we stayed in Florida as well but I remember there was a big "no cancellation" policy and remember hearing stories about people not being able to get a refund on their points if they cancelled their hotel stay. Does anyone know if this policy still exists? Is there such a thing as cancellation insurance when booking with AM? I'm just worried if I use my points and something comes up that we cannot go that I will lose my points. I tried looking online but did not have any luck and didn't want to get too far into the reservation process without being able to back out.

You most definitely can add insurance to any travel bookings you make thru Airmiles. Here's what you'll see

You will get a prompt at the end if you decide NOT to take the coverage, you'll need to confirm your choice again before you finish if you hit the No thanks button. If you want to earn a fast 25 AM you can take this silly quiz about their insurance even!

Even if you forget and then decide you want to add the coverage you can call and do that so long as it's within 72 hours of booking.
