My husband does a little "carpet campout" with my daughters twice a month and they all sleep on an air mattress in the family room. We are now on our
3rd mattress and I'm really annoyed! We don't let the girls jump on them and they aren't ever outside, yet they always spring a leak. Can any one recommend one to me that has lasted? I'm willing to spend some money on this because I'm buying cheap ones every so often and if I can find a good one that lasts it is worth it to me! Thanks in advance!

We loved our aerobed. Expensive but worth it. We had the camping one with the rechargeable pump. Very comfortable and easy and quick to set up. Had to replace it when our dog chewed the valve off-shouldn't have left her alone with it! We had it 7 or so years though and it held up great. Ordered it through BEd Bath & Beyond I think. Now have a Coleman " double high" mattress and it's good but you feel the other person move more than on the aero.

We've had really good luck with the Aerobed brand. If you have a Bed Bath and Beyond you might be able to get a discount - they have coupons fairly often.

We have had a Coleman for years now (it is about 9 years old) It has had some abuse and many trips to WDW - still in good shape - no leaks - no holes patched.

Another vote for the Aerobed...Mine lasted for a while...till DH locked the cat in the room with it..:headache:

We had 3 Aerobeds....all leaked within a few months and then trashed.

We now have Coleman ones...LOVE them...especially at less than half the price of the Aerobed.

Oh...I did put one of the Aerobeds in the pool....just to see if we could locate the hole.

We ended up locating about 25 small leaks!!!!! and there was never anything near the mattress to cause that!

Folks... go to Costco or Sam's (i got mine at Costco) to buy the aerobed.

We bought one 3 yrs ago and it was fine. a few weeks ago the kids were jumping on it with grandma over and a seam burst internally. I took it back, got refunded, and bought a new lower priced aerobed queen size for $114.

Costco is great because even after 3 yrs, they refund you if its defective and you can get another one (provided they have one which they will).

So you cannot beat that.

Love the Coleman - to help preserve it, roll it instead of folding and keep away from direct heat.

Just a quick question/thought. Are they holding the air until it's time to go to bed and then your family finds themselves with their butts touching the floor thru the night? If yes, do you turn the temperature down overnight? If yes, the problem may not be a leak, but the air in the mattress condensing as it cools - especially if you use lung power to blow up the mattresses 'cause 98 degree air will condense quite a bit once it cools to room temperature.

You can get good deals on Aerobed's at Kohl's as well. Esp when they are doing the 30% off + kohl's cash like they are right now. We bought our DD one of the kid's aerobed's from there for traveling.
