I know the value resorts don't have the option of getting a cot. I have a 17 year old son and a 13 year old daughter that will not be able to share a bed. My question is will a twin air mattress fit in the pop century rooms?

Yes it will, but it's a tight fit. I have an 18 yo DD and an 11 yo DS who will not sleep together. We brought a twin size air mattress with us in July and stayed at Pop. We've also used it at ASSp a couple of years ago. It fits in front of the door or in front of the beds. We never tried putting it between the beds because of the trouble with being able to get out of bed at night. We kept it by the door so that everyone could go to the bathroom at night.

You may want to make sure to ask for lots of extra blankets. I had to sleep on an air matress at WDW once, and was always cold. The air matress doesn't keep you warm like a normal bed does. Of course, I'm always cold no matter what, so I'm sure that had something to do with it!

Can't help on the space issue though, we stayed at the Wilderness Villas. Mom and Dad had the master, Brother1 and his family had the 2nd bedroom, and Brother2 and I had to share the living room. So I let him have the couch and I slept on the floor. What are sister's for!

Thanks. I'm exploring onsite as well as offsite hotels. DH and I are planning to surprise the kids with the trip as a graduation present. He will graduate high school and she will graduate 8th grade. We want to keep the hotel cost down so we can do "extras" during the trip.

Do try to stay onsite because there is nothing like it!! You have the buses to take you everywhere, early park entry, and the magic!!!!

Oh, any chance you could sleep with your daughter instead??? We've done that before, mother/daughter, father/son - works fine for a few nights! ;)

It Makes me so happy when I read about other parents wanting to surprise their kids. What better place to do it too!!!
Have a disney nite:earsgirl: :earsboy:

POR might work as there is a trundle bed in the room: one kid on the double bed, one on the trundle. You have to ask for rooms in the AB section of POR for this extra bed.

yes, we stayed at Pop is Jan. and used a twin size air mattress. We brought a twin fitted sheet from home to cover it and put it in front of the door area and just had to scoot the table/chairs down a smidge.
Then we would just prop it up during the day hours. My 13 yr. old who had to sleep on it whined about this for weeks before the trip but after her 1st night on it she loved it! Said it was very comfortable and was always the 1st one asleep everynite. We usually do the mom/daughter and father/son thing to sleep in hotels but I will no longer sleep with that girl unless we are sharing a queen size bed or larger. She is so annoying in her sleep. I will put up with DH or my 5 yr. old son but not her!

I of course make myself do it if it is a nite or two but not for 7 nights in a row. This worked well and we will be doing it again in Nov!! This time for 8 nights!

I had the same problem when my daughter was 6 - there was no way I could sleep with her - or anyone - she would sleep sideways on any size bed! So we stayed at the BC that yr and had a daybed. But the BC is expensive - we had a travel agent rate which was 50% off rack, which made is very doable.

POR trundle - I thought I read somewhere that there is a $15 a night charge to use the trundle? Should be free - it's already in the room!

Would have been heading to Disney on Monday, vacation cut from 5 to 3 days becasue of Jeanne - changed flights yesterday from Monday to Wed , only today it looks like it would have be fine flying out on Monday! Good excuse for a weekend trip this winter ;)
