Hi I was wondering if anyone knew if there are on demand on overhead films on flights from Dublin with these airlines. They currently appear the most reasonably priced for summer 2012 but haven't flown with either before. Thanks

I could be wrong, but it is likely that the flights are actually just codeshare and so in effect the same flight, whether it is a Delta or Air France plane I don't know.

Delta have seat back screens on translantic flights, but they are not on demand. I would guess Air France also as they fly a modern fleet. Sorry I haven't been much help, hopefully someone else can be more definitive!

i think it is a codeshare with Delta and you fly on a delta plane.

delta is in the process of upgrading their entire transatlantic fleet - so it depends when you're planning to fly as to whether you'll get VOD or not.

But i think that all of their transatlantic flights already have seat back entertainment, just not VOD as yet. But i could well be wrong about that.

In any case, it's a good thing that it's a delta plane, rather than Air France. Air France has an older fleet. Delta a bit younger. Plus Delta's really making an effort to upgrade theirs.

check the flight connection details, as some AF flies into La Guardia, and you need to transfer to JFK for the transatlantic flight home. personally still early for even deals in July

We flying Air France next July from Dublin. We go Dublin-Paris-Orlando and same airports on return.

Not sure about entertainment on flight as we just took cheapest flights although I did read some where that they were upgrading/had upgraded to back of seat screens.

The flight from dublin will be on a delta plane as far as entertainment it depends someone I know who just got back did Dublin to atlanta to mco and had overhead tvs but had wifi on that flight on the way home they went Mco to jfk to dublin and had personal tvs that was with delta

On the Delta website in the booking section there are pictograms/icons next to each flight indicating what kind of entertainment system is on that flight. This will tell you whether the flight has overhead films or seatback video. That said, the A330's they inherited from Northwest Airlines are all seatback video while the Boeing 767's could have either system.
