Trying to decide if we should depart Saturday or Sunday morning for our mid-Dec trip. We're returning Fri, so if we leave Sunday we won't have a Saturday night stay on our air fare. Is that even a big deal anymore? The way I see it, it would cost us $410 to stay Saturday night at BWV (renting pts). I can't imagine flying out on a Saturday would save us that much money. Any thoughts?

Ask the airline.

Tried that. This is a Dec trip, so at this time there are no discounted fares-- both are the same price. I also ran some tests on various airline sites using May dates and typically found the difference to only be about $30-50 per person (if there was any difference at all). I'm hoping some seasoned travellers might offer some advice or confirm that my test is somewhat accurate.

A lot of airlines have done away with Sat. night stay requirements. The only way to see is try for different dates until your time frame comes up.

Had this same dilemma for Sept. trip, arriving on Sunday and leaving on Friday, also renting at BWV. It looked to me like the amount you spent on the room at BWV for Sat. made you break even on the airfare. I guess if you stayed at a value for the Sat night, it might be slightly worth it, but we decided against this since we didn't feel like moving all of our things to a new room after one night. But then again, it IS an extra night at Disney.... :earboy2:
