Air Conditioning Sensor at BCV

I was at BCV in August 2002 and woke up every hour or so waving my arm to get the air conditioning unit to kick on due to the sensor. Anyone else find this annoying?
I was thinking of booking BCV for next years visit but really was annoyed with this sensor system. Does anyone know if there has been any improvments with this system? Has anyone stayed recently and not find their room hot and stuffy through the night.
I love the location of BCV, love the pool, and the room. This was really the only thing that annoyed me while we were there, so if anyone knows if there has been any improvements I would love to know. Thanks!

We were there in early May and no one in our family found the rooms at night to be hot. My DH really likes a cool room at night and he did not mind the air conditioning.

we were there a couple weeks ago and noticed that the room got warmer while we were gone, but it was nice and cool whenever we were in the room. My wife and I were constantly fighting over the temperature - she likes it a little less cool than I. The unit seemed to be very efficient and cooled quickly. I don't remember having to get up and change the temp or move around at night. We were in a 1 br and our two dd's were in the living room...don't know if that made a difference or not.

I spent last week there and kept waking up freezing my tail off. Two nights I had to go in there and up the thermostat.

We just got back a week ago and had no problems. And I hate being hot at night.

I was there in May (95 degrees outside at the time) and we were very comfortable. Dh even commented that he was cold at night. We could def. hear the sensor come on at night in the bedroom ("peep").

We were at BCV in May and no problems.

When you enter the room it will be warm but quickly cool to the set temp. If you go right over to the thermostat and dial it down you will freeze. I think that's why there are a lot of "yo-yo" comments about the temperature.

We were in a studio on the second floor in May. I was comfortable at night. Maybe it is because I left the door of the refrig open to keep it cool:eek:     :D (just joking, obviously).

Just back from BCV last Friday and didn't have any problems with a/c. Room felt a little stuffy when you first walked in but quickly cooled off. I thought it might have seemed that way because the hallways are ice cold. I slept on the sofa bed and the first night I only had one cover on and got cold. The rest of the time I used two blankets and was fine. My friend likes a colder room. We kept it set on 68 which is the coldest it can be set.

We were there over Easter and found the rooms very comfortable. We started in a one bedroom and none of the guys complained it was too warm. We moved to a studio and we were very comfortable and we even had to bring out the extra blanket out of the closet a couple of nights!

Thanks for all the good reports! Think I'll book BCV for next year! If I get hot I can be like AEN and leave the frig open. ;)

We just got home on Sunday and have to agree with other posters. The room was stuffy when we first arrived but at night it got down-right cold. DS who is usually never cold asked for another blanket for his bed. We hired the thermometer to around 74 at night just so we wouldn't wake up freezing. Annmarie

I still think there is some kind of gaget that we can figure out to help fool those senors into keeping the proper room temperature at night, without having to toss and turn to keep the air on. Someone suggested a glove warmer near the sensor. Still looking for ideas.

If the room sensor is not to your liking, management will send someone up to disarm it within minutes of your call to the front desk.
It certainly is NOT a reason to avoid the Beach Club Villas.

Really? Does anyone know how they do that? Is there a switch? Didn't know this.

Unfortunately, when I called about the temperature in my room, I was told nothing could be done. (68 is way too warm for DH and me.) I asked to speak with a supv, but he told me the same thing.

Is there a sensor in each room? I know there is on the thermostat in the main room but is there one in the Master?

I swear, we froze at night. Of course DW was 35 weeks pregnant while we were there last week so her constant bathroom tours may have kept it on:) .

Yes, I saw one in the master above the spa passthrough by the smoke detector.

We were there 6/5 - 9 and didn't have any problems with the temperature.

I was there in mid May when it was extremely hot, my biggest problem was that it was to cold for sleeping, all other times it was very comfortable.
