Air Conditioner for Tent?

Has anyone ever used an Air Conditioner in a tent and had good luck? If so, please let me know what you used. Assume that the camp site has power available.

Just a personal opinion.... The Physics are bad.

Just about any good tent has to "breath" to a degree. So let's imagine what would happen in FL with an air conditioned tent, with no insulation....
The interior temp would drop. The tent is "semi-permeable" (it breathes). Water vapor would likely start to condense on the interior tent walls....

Now, a unit like this COULD work if it also de-humidified. But I'm just guessing that if it did not? You would end up with a pretty significant rainstorm INSIDE the tent.

Yikes! So our options are get soaked with sweat inside the tent or get soaked with condensation inside the tent. Guess my son's are out of luck. We'll stick with the Poly!
