I am loving all of the a/c discussions and I am so wanting to try the fort !!! In my air conditioned tent, that is;)

I am wondering ... we are new to civilized camping (we've only been primitive w/ cub scouts. Ick.) ... do tenting people bring a/c and mini fridges to other campgrounds, too? If so, can you just get the electric and water tent sites, or do you need more of a hook up?

I want to camp, but I want to be comfy. Hey, what can I say?:goodvibes

We are a boy scout family. Our boys (and husbands) do everything from hiking 30 miles of the appachlian trail to comfort camping. LOL. Some of the primitave camping is fun when you are with a group but when we go family camping or camping with just 1 or 2 families, we only go to places with water and electricity on our campsite. We decorate our campsite with christmas lights and other decor, have our easy-up out with lights on that too. I have a huge 12 man tent that my husband calls "Karen's Castle" that the four of us sleep in and the two teens sleep in their 4 man tent. It's quite hilarious how comfortable we are camping with all our gear.

AC in Tents in Florida in the summertime is very common at county and state parks. It's not just hot at the Fort. Plus most other campgrounds don't have AC in the comfort stations so there is no place to cool off unless you are camping at one of the springs where the water is always 72 deg or so.
