I flew back from Orlando on Air Canada on Saturday. I'd have to say it was perhaps the worst service I've had on a flight. We were on the plane for over four hours, two of them sitting on the runway in Orlando. The plane down was late, so they put us on while luggage was being stowed. The plane was far less than clean. Then there was a mechanical problem, then a weather delay. Not their fault.
There was no food service, minimal drink service, and after showing countless ads on the screen, they started a movie half-way through the flight, then had to cut it off before it finished.
On the way down the previous Saturday, the movie kept cutting out and being replaced by something else, then re-starting. The safety display would fast forward and reverse.
Also, in Toronto there were only four check-in spots for all the flights. It took us over an hour. When we approached the girl, she told the passing manager to relieve her because she was going to faint. She just couldn't handle the stress and the pace. She told us we were her last check-in. There was no security from her. She even wanted us to carry-on our large suitcases because she didn't want to check them.
Maybe the government should just put the debt-ridden airline out of its misery and start from scratch. It made me long for Canada 3000. Options are now severely limited.
