Ahoy! Sailing the Wonder 2/8/09

Well it was 62 degrees here today - hard to believe that only 3 days ago there was snow as far as they eye could see. It only makes me ready for the Carribean even more - I'll begin the grand task of packing this weekend - it should be fun!:cheer2:

Ahhh, your kids are so cute. :) I'm sure you will get your pic this year.

I will be 1 hour away from Orlando this time in 2 weeks. :)

I LOVE ALL THE CRUISE PICS. They are all so beautiful and the kids look so cute!!! Its nice to put a face with a name. Since this is our first cruise, I have none. I don't even have any family disney pics on my computer because I am one of those ocd people that back them up on a disk and then remove them to make room on my computer for more. Oh well, I should have some nice ones when we return I hope.

What pirate feast??? Details, details please!

What pirate feast??? Details, details please!

One pirate night (night 2 for us I believe) there will be a pirate party. At dinner everyone will get pirate bandanas. Around 10pm the pirate party will start on deck 9. Buffets will be set up with fajitas, turkey legs and such. There will be big dessert tables. Last time I was too full from dinner to appreciate the food but not this time!!!! That night pirate mickey will show up, there will be fireworks and a Pirates of the Caribbean movie on the big screen at the Goofy Pool around midnight. Great fun! I do recommend a jacket or better yet a small blanket to cozy up on a lounge chair for the movie...

Can't wait....I need to pack for 2 trips this week. DD is going to Columbus, OH next weekend (mom is chaperone), and then vacation. Fortunately, different wardrobes for the two trips.....

Finished college financial aid application today so I don't have to go to THAT meeting tomorrow. More packing time! And then I want to get on cleaning the house. I don't want to come home from vacation to a mess.

Got LOTS of packing done today! The next 2 weeks are B-U-S-Y! The weather here has been crazy - snow on Tuesday, 65 on Friday and the forecast is for sleet tomorrow:confused3 Go Figure! Needless to say, packing today was a delight - not a sweater in sight - except a light one for nights. Most of my FE gifts are ready to go, now if I can just get DH to get his clothes out - wish me luck! I hope you all have a great week

Ha! Kathryn, I am the same way! I have to clean house before I go on a trip too!:rotfl: Problem for me is that my FIL and DS almost-16 are going to be home while we are gone -so it won't be clean when we get home anyway. But I'm still gonna do it:confused3
I really need a vacation! :beach:

Kathryn....are you going to see Ohio State with her?

Where was that picture taken Krista? I don't think I've seen it, is it on the ship?

That picture was taken on the glass bottom boat tour at Castaway Key. The tour guide put the kids down in the wells of the boats and they could see much farther than all of us standing on the deck. William said it was "really cool"

In exactly 2 weeks we will be boarding the wonder. Anyone else SUPER excited.

I tired to get the husband to leave last night, he didn't go for it.

For dinner tonight, in two weeks, I think I will start with....

So, to be sure... Anyone who is dressing up for pirate night actually wears their "pirate outfits" to dinner, right? Or do they wear regular clothes and change for the party? I certainly don't want to have the only two kids dressed like bucaneers at dinner and everyone else "Cruise Casual"!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Also, when you take a blanket to the deck to watch the movie... do you bring something from home.. or is there one in the room that you can bring down with you? (please say the room... I don't think I can stuff one more thing in the suitcases!!!):crazy2:

Thanks!!!

You can dress before dinner, especially if you have late dinner. Everyone gets their bandana at dinner, so that's when the dressing up starts.

If you want to take a blanket up to the deck, you can take the one from your room. We've never taken a blanket, just sweaters/jackets.

It's cool--sometimes they actually show all 3 POC movies, one on each of the screens. Other times, it has just been 2--one on the big screen on deck and another on the Buena Vista screen.

by the table clothe, it should be in Parrot Cay. So...... my guess is smokey chicken, vegetable and cheddar cheese fritters?????
