Ahoy! Sailing the Wonder 2/8/09

Our reveal didn't quite happen as we planned. We gave them each a box with Disney shirts and Disney dollars. In our DS's box we put a note saying that we were going on the "Mickey Boat" as they call it. The note was printed using the Disney font so it was hard for him to read and it wasn't quite as fun needing to help him read it. But the kids are very excited and keep telling everyone they are going on a cruise and to see a shuttle launch.

Right now I am planning a scavenger hunt ending with the treasure chest full of disney things, the remote set to play the cruise DVD and countdown chains. I was just wondering about the poem to see if that might be something better for the chest.

Join Mom and Dad as we go back

On February 8, we have a date
Join Mickey and friends
you'll be the first mate!

we put this at the end of a slide show created with pictures from our last cruise (in Photostory - free download on the Microsoft website) and we had the pictures scroll while Kenny Chesney's "All I Want for Christmas is a Real Good Tan" played

Yes, us too Anetnmike! Worst thing is that my sister is getting on the Wonder today for the New Years cruise and it's really killing us sitting up in NY watching more snow come down! Watching the countdown and the boards like a hawk!

I have to recreate the FE list today. I got ready to send it out yesterday and found out that when IT reimaged my computer they ignored my request to back up all of my documents. ERRRRR!

I should have it ready to go by this afternoon as long as nothing crazy happens at work.

Has anyone called Disney to see which night is pirate night? There's another thread on the main DCL list about which night it is and it almost seems random whether it's the 2'nd or 3'rd night.

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope the best for everyone in the upcoming year! I've got the FE list and we have been shopping for fun items. If there are any special requests for "southern things" please let me know (grits, Andy Capps Hot fries. Blenhim Ginger Ale, etc.) and Myrtle Beach is just 45 minutes for me. My TA says that Pirate Night is the 3rd night - I hope she is right bc we have Palo ressi for 2nd. Does anyone know what time the "main dining" is seated? I've read lots of the chats about things to bring - are their any other great secrets that you more experienced cruisers are keeping?
