Ahoy! Sailing the Wonder 2/8/09

Tomorrow at midnight is the time to log on and book shore excursions, right? Is that our 75 day mark???

I am getting soooooo excited!!!:cool1: :cool1:

For all the first time cruisers, remember to book Palo brunch (if wanted) first then Palo dinner, any excursion and then register children for the clubs. This is based on the which bookings are most limited.

Fingers are crossed for great success for all of you!

Yes, you can cancel Palo. You have to give 24 hrs notice or you will still pay the fee. So if you book dinner for the very first night then you have to cancel on-line and that closes 72 hours before our sail date. So 2nd, 3rd and 4th night you can cancel on the ship, first night I would think you would have to cancel before on-line booking closes.

Which day is the day at sea? That's what seems like would make the most sense for brunch...

nevermind... it's the 11th... I looked it up! Thanks!

Hey, Y'all!

DCL newcomer here for our very first cruise, and thanks to these boards just booked Palo, spa treatments and a shore excursion! Just DH and I. What will we get for a GTY 06 cabin?

Jean (my middle name as well, love it)

You will get a Cat 6, veranda room or higher, although upgrades are far and few with DCL.

We were upgraded from a cat 7 to a cat 4 on our last cruise. We received a call the day before we boarded from our TA. We were shopping in a Big K in Orlando when we got the call. So it does happen. Only once in 3 cruises....:thumbsup2

This will be cruise 6 for me and closest to an upgrade was booking a Cat 12 and being bumped to a Cat 11 so they could sell more Cat 12 sale rooms, lol. I was one of over 40 people who got the same bump.

Thanks for the info. It will be interesting to see what happens. See you onboard!

Hi Anetnmike...I'm the DH of ljm23 and a brand new member here. We would love to meet you and your husband on the cruise. Of course he and I could talk shop.....or not since it's vacation...lol....:firefight We always board early and can meet ya for the castaway party to say hi. Do you have any children? We have a DS that is 10 and loves the Oceaneer's Club. Let us know. Anyone else planning to meet on Deck 9 during the castaway party? :thumbsup2 Let us know...would love to meet other cruisers!! Also...anyone dressing up for the Pirates in the Caribbean Party?

Mike

jedijill - do you have the list of all those participating in the FE's? can you send it out to the others of us participating?

I'm getting so excited, I can't stand it!!!!
:yay:

Is anyone else planning this as a Christmas surprise? If so, how are you going to present it? I have been thinking about a scavenger hunt ending with the DVD from Disney and boarding passes made by another member. Any other suggestions? Also, we are taking our 8 year old granddaughter and 4 year old grandson. Any other girls around 8? Maybe they can PM each other when it gets closer so they get to know someone before the cruise.

:yay: Hi Mike, seems we all have alot in common! My DH's name is also Mike! You know you guys can't resist talking shop -vacation or not! But I've heard some really great stories that way! We met a few on our last cruise too! Our DS is 9 and loves the Oceaneers Club too. He is really excited about making new friends. We are also planning on boarding early and would love to meet up with you guys. Pirate Partying is on our must do list as well. pirate: We are counting the days!

On the xmas gift idea, I had a friend do a treasure chest, with all kinds of things for a cruise, then at the bottom was an envelope with the news in the form of a gift certificate.

We have a 7 year old daughter and a 9 year old son and we are travelling with another family that has a 7 year old girl and a 3 1/2 (almost 4 year old boy!)

Sounds like a lot of us have kids around the same age!
