Ok, back to talking to cruise.

There is a special starting tonight on the DIY channel called Project Xtreme which features the Disney Magic in drydock. I'm recording the show on my Tivo so if anyone needs a copy, I would be more than happy to burn to DVD. I also have the Travel Channel's DCL special.

Tracey, what is eyebrow threading? Is that another term for waxing or is there another procedure our there I don't know about?

I have never tried waxing so I can't compare. November was my first time to try threading and it really neat. It didn't hurt too bad and it was so fast. This time maybe the lady wasn't as experienced or maybe tried to pull out too many hairs at once. The offending hairs are pulled out using twisted sewing thread. Wow Tracey, that threading looks interesting! I don't think we have anything like that around here. I guess I will just stick to the waxing for now. Its not too painful, I'm just red for a day. But that beats plucking.

CEMEB4DK: Sorry, don't mean to get off cruise topics and start new conversations on waxing!!! We will leave it at the eyebrow level and end it there I promise.

So back onto the cruise. I too have been investigating other cruises. I'm not sure if its me, but I can't find too much. I wish there were dates listed with cruise reports. It seems to be just what people want to name it and its hard to find any reports on the 4 day wonder. I have found a lot of WDW reports (under the cruise report topics??) and I have found some negative remarks. Although I understand people get disappointed, and maybe that will be me when I get back (hope not )I don't think they should leave those remarks with out talking about some of the positives. On one particular thread, the author didn't have time to do a complete report, but certainly found time to write a detailed negative story that was quite long and definitely took some time. I'm just saying, try to give us the whole picture. The good with the bad. So wait until you can post the whole thing..........Just my thought.

Does anyone understand where I am coming from?? Please don't flame me. Remember I am new at this. Be polite in your criticism please! Any luck finding more tips or info on recent cruises?? I did email someone to see if they had a recent navigator. I will let you know if I get anything.

Well....it's an interesting day. We aren't really "snowed in" in the sense that I got the car out and shoveled the driveway....then the snowplow came and mushed the snow back into the driveway. Bad snowplow.

However....we have many downed tree limbs (not huge ones). The big problem is that there is no power due to the ice storm and many downed power lines. So...we are spending the night away from home. Fortunately that gave me some internet access. There is no word as to when power may be restored, but they are saying that there is some big thing that blew out in addition to the downed lines, so it could be awhile.

I've decided that my new theory is to do what I can. I can pack reasonably by flashlight if necessary. If I can't clean up the yard, it will be waiting for me after the trip. I'll go back to the house tomorrow to see whether we have power and deal with what I can at that point.....

For the person who asked, yes, you can use Disney Dollars by going to Guest Services and having them applied to your account.

ITA about the negative trip reports. I know everything won't be perfect but a blend of the good and the bad makes for a more balanced look. I hate some of those where they found everything bad. Ugh.

Sorry to hear about all your power issues. I'm from Missouri and know what ice storms are like...no fun! Glad you were able to find somewhere to stay with power and internet.!

Kelly I agree with you about the bad reports. I tend to dismiss what they say when it is all negative. Just figure they are the type that can't be pleased. I imagine it is pretty much what you make of any cruise. Keep a positive attitude and the good will outweigh the bad every time.

I am kind of disappointed that they don't do the bandanas anymore. That was kind of fun. Our last cruise was Thanksgiving of 07 and they did it then so I gather this is a recent change. I have read many trip reports and have found a few that were unhappy but many more that were the opposite. One prevailing theme that did concern me and in fact I started a thread on it several weeks ago was that there seemed to be a lot of complaints about the dining servers. What came out of that was that if you are unhappy with your servers you need to let them know immediately. We had a great time on our last cruise and are looking forward to another.

Hello all - well I guess everyone is packed since we are still discussing primping and pampering! I wish I was! I'm on the way to an early childhood conference at the Beach, but its raining and cold at the moment!
Jill - I'd love a DVD of the DIY program and the travel channel's. You can bring it with you, if you can remember.
I hope that all of you who are snowed in and/or without power are managing OK. When we have storms here we are usually without power since out lines are all above ground, but we fared well last week, just hope it stays that way! Just remember there is a light at the end of the tunnel and you'll be there in 10 days!

We are on our 4th snow day here! Can't wait until the boat. Why couldn't this snow storm have come next week, then we could have just left for florida earlier!

OMg! I missed this!! We are under an inch of ice, and a few inches of snow. And after 22hrs of no power....its back ON!! Pretty much anything I was hoping to get done bfore our trip is being rescheduled, or dropped. Lots to read.
