Ahoy! Sailing the Wonder 2/8/09

Thank you! BTW, I forgot to mention this is our 1st time cruising!pirate:
Welcome 3littleHalls! You're going to love it! If you're interested we're doing a DIS meet at 3-3:30 at the Goofy pool, we have a small but fun group on this forum!

Welcome 3littleHalls! As I am your neighbor to the west (Illinois) you are probably enjoying the same lovely -14 degree weather we are having. Ready for the tropics yet?!:cool1: Get ready to have a great time:banana:

3littleHalls nice to have you aboard!! :welcome:
Just in case you haven't read page 25 of this thread yet, here are some great articles for tips and advice.

These articles had stuff I did not know on our first cruise. Good stuff...

Hello everyone. Have been enjoying your thread. I am new to this. Took me forever just to figure out how to be able to post. All of your tips have been wonderful!! I just thought I would offer more of what I found out today. Sorry if you already know. I have read the whole thread as to try not to be repetitious. Hopefully I'm not.

Movies in January are: WallE, Beverly Hills Chewawa, Bolt, HSM3, Hannah Montanna and they will add one more in February.

Dress up night is night 2, Pirate Night is night 3.

Do any of you who have cruised before know how dressy people are on the non casual night? Is a simple dress or a dressy blouse and silk pants OK?

We are very excited. Have been to WDW every february since '98 when DD was born. We are finally taking the plunge into the DCL. We waited until both kids (DS7) could take full advantage of the clubs. Starting with shorter cruise. From the way everyone talks, we will be hooked. Maybe next year we will try the longer cruise.

Thanks to all. Look forward to more chatting as we get closer. We put a plush mickey in the hallway with countdown numbers on him. We will start this sunday for 20 days. If I can learn how to load pics, I will do that.
Going back online for more research.
:surfweb:

Your proposed clothes will be fine for "dressy" night. The Wonder is much more casual than the Magic....

It is really COLD here, and I want to cruise.

Hey all...just clarifying something with ljm23 (DW)...we are meeting at the goofy pool at 3pm, right? I think you'll be able to identify myself and Mike (of Anetnmike fame). We'll be the ones sippin tall cold ones :drinking1 and talking shop :firefight ...lol. Right Annette?:thumbsup2: Finkelly, like you and your family we have gone to Disney World multiple times since our son was born in 98. You will truly love the Cruise. When they do the countdown at the sailaway party and then blow the ships horn, well lets just say it's magical! I don't know about everyone else but when I see all the passengers from other ships looking at us...I think they look totally envious! :worship: :rotfl2:

Greetings from sunny SC! It's a balmy 32 degrees outside right now (warm by comparison to some of you!) It was 73 in the Bahamas today by the way. It is really a shame to be this cold and not have snow! My kids are begging for some, and we only have a slight chance of some slurries Saturday night - but it won't stick.:sad2: I'm fianlly online with the photo thing and I'll send 2 tonight since I'm trying to catch up

Great looking boys!

Has anyone taken the walking ship tour on the first day?

We missed this on our first cruise and just wondering if it is worth the time.

A little late on pictures so here are a couple.

You gotta have Mickey Bars every night before bed.

well outside my office window I see snow, and lots of it. Probably 3 feet of snow as an average. The temp is a balmy -18 C, which is nice compared to the -34 C it has been for the last two days. My feet are cold, my fingers are cold, but my heart is warm, and getting warmer by the day as we approach our cruise date. We head :drive: south, thank God, in 20 days. Twentyfour hours after we leave our driveway, we will be in :beach: Florida! :cool1:

It is only 14 here in Alabama. I even have ice on my windows. I know that doesn't sound like much to those of you with -14 but for here it is brrrrrrrrr. Can't wait to warm up.

It is -6 here in KY with the windchill making it feel like -12.

I"M FREEZING and can't wait to go see Mickey!!! 22 days left!
