seeing my pasty white skin all exposed in shorts & short sleeves.

Macy's had a One Day Sale so I got lost in there for a few hours. Did find the shoes I wanted, but out of 4 pairs they didn't have my size in anything so of course, I went shopping for DH & the kids lol. They now have some really nice stuff. Next I wandered over to Army Navy but still didn't see the dressy sort of sneakers I want. Then I hit TJ Maxx, again no shoes but I found 2 more tops.

Anyone else out there clothes shopping at the moment? I went yesterday and again today. Holy crow, I wish they'd hand out shots :drinking1 before I have to face my pasty skin in short sleeves in those dressing rooms. Wow is it hard to find nice stuff at my age now. Being short and busty I either have to go with modest and look like a bowling ball or amp up the waistline, which means highlight the cleavage which can end up making me look too.... errrrr.... let's call it inviting. I miss the days when I could throw anything on myself and look fine, better than fine... Goooooood! It's cruel that we have to do 17 first, then age. I would much rather have been born mushy and grown into a well shaped swan pixiedust:

I agree. I am 5'7 and still can't find things that flatter me. Either they make me look like a cow or a hoochie. I don't like either of those choices. I am also pasty white and it makes it very difficult to live here in FL. I was and still am teased about being so white living in FL.

I took out my 4 new tops to show my DD11 and she declared one of them to be too Goth. It's white with a funky design that could sort of look like a funky butterfly tattoo, not Ed Hardy though, more tribal in black ink only. After looking at my hurt face she said, "That's ok Mama, you don't have to be just like everyone else."

She does listen to the words that come out of my mouth :yay: Now I feel much better about the whole day.

Aw, that is so sweet! And the best advice a mother can give a daughter...or in this case, the other way around! :thumbsup2

Ha, thats funny! Your shirt sounds really cool. I really love black, I wear something black almost every day. I wish there was another color that was as slimming. I really don't like navy.

^5 for your DD! That is so awesome to hear something from our children's mouths that validates what we try and teach them.

I've actually been having an easier time of finding clothing. The styles are more flattering to my particular shape ("round is a shape") :teeth: Seriously, though, I think I'm starting to accept my body more. I finally realize that I'll never wear a single-digit size...

As far as being pasty white, I hear ya! I cannot and do not tan. I burn, peel, and burn some more. I've tried fake tans and I just don't look good. So...I will remain pasty white and again roll my eyes at the people who ask me if I'm wearing white stockings...

I'm round, short and pasty white!!! I'm working on it though! Just gotta love yourself! Pooh on them if they don't like it!! I'm going shopping this weekend, can't wait!:cool1:

You guys are funny. I was just thinking about the spray on tan for legs. How funny would it be if I just sprayed my entire body with the stuff

I was wondering that myself. I have tried other things and I end up looking like a pumpkin. I just want a little color!
