I was just organizing my linen closet and used a space bag tot bag thing --GREAT! 2 comforters, 3 blankets, a couple of sheet sets and a few other things in 1 bag that you nicely zip into a boxish kind of bag that sits nicely on a shelf! Now we can actually see what we have - I just wish they weren't so expensive!

Costco sells them in a set I'm thinking about buying. Where did you get yours and what did you pay?

Wait before you buy more. Check in a month to see if it is still holding as all 4 of mine reinflated in a month. Apparently, most have the same problem.

If they reinflate, can't you just re-deflate?

Also, let's say I just wash sheets and I put them all in the bag, when you reopen the bag, do they still smell like fabric softner? I know when I leave them in the linen closet, they lose the fresh smell.

My winter sweaters were in a space bag for about two years - the bag did not reinflate, and the clothes didn't smell musty when they came out. I was able to wear them right away. Thank goodness!

I did put a hole in one while trying to put it up on a wire shelf - that was pretty funny. So, they do have to stay airtight in order to work.

You can deflate again and they reinflated again. Also, my stuff smelled a little plasticy.

I bought two years ago to store a comforter and some sweaters. I was in love with them because they saved so much room! But, within a few days, they reinflated and I never could get them to stay deinflated. I ended up tossing them. :headache:

For the ones who were able to successfully store deflated stuff for 2 years or more, was the stuff able to refluff or were they permanently flattened? I wouldn't want a flattened wool sweater no matter how well it was stored. :p

I bought a vacuum-sealed, deflated futon & separate memory foam mattress pad from Overstock.com. Neither inflated to the full thickeness they were advertized to be. Both were name brand items from different companies, so I doubt the companies had listed the items as the wrong thicknesses. I wondered if they ended up at Overstock.com at a bargain price because they had been vacuum deflated for too long & the companies knew they would never fully re-fluff again. :scratchin
