so i just got back our floral proposal from disney & im sticker shocked. $2526.47 to be exact for my bouquet, moh bouquet, bouts, corsages for moms & grandmas, $600 for white wooden chairs at ceremony (yes i know we can subtract this but we hate the plastic garden chairs) $348 for staged rose petal exit (i think im going to do my own cones & buy petals instead), etc.

so what were other brides floral budgets? i had planned $1200. did any brides use an outsider floral vendor which they could suggest?

We used Disney Floral and our total bill was $2,741. That included all of the flowers (my bouquet, MOH bouquet, 4 corsages, 7 bouts, unity candle flowers, 4 centerpieces), table linens (gorgeous chair covers, napkins), Mickey garter, Mickey guest book, Mickey unity candle, Dessert Party candles, 28 rose petal bags for our staged exit, and a few other random things. The flowers were soooooo beautiful...we were really happy with Disney Floral!! I think the only way we could have cut our bill in half would have been to eliminate nearly everything except for the bouquets, corsages, bouts, and centerpieces.

You could try talking to the EM or Floral contact and inquire how you can reduce the cost closer to your budget and keep the same look. Maybe there are flowers that have the same look and feel you were going after but are less expensive? Or perhaps they can scale down the size of the arrangements? We got our budget lower by using different fabric and ribbon, but I know that was several years ago. Bottom line - tell them it is too much and see what they can suggest.

When did you get married? I was wondering if they still had the Mickey garder.

Wow, sounds like you had some great stuff. Do you have any rough prices for these? Could you please PM me if you have any details or pics?

I own a florist in NJ and considered renewal ceremony in Disney and do have to say I looked at a few of their floral packages and the prices and I thought
they were outrageous. I am sure they are gorgeous but I am also sure an
outside vendor can do just as beautiful of a job for alot less. Just a suggestion, but what about silk bouquets that you could even buy from your local florist and bring with you and then just buy your extras in Disney.
Either way go online and look at some local shops in Orlando and I am positive you can get much more for your money off property. Good Luck :earsgirl:

After my first over the phone consultation with the florist, My original estimate was over $3,000 and I was like :earseek: But I realized that was just a starting place, and have since then taken the budget down to about $1,700 and don't feel I have had to sacrifice too much (Except for satin chair covers - I really wanted those but they're not worth $600 to me...)

I agree with everyone else - talk to the floral department and see what you can do to take the budget down.

We just got married on November 1, 2005!!! I feel certain that they still have the garter for sale (it's on display in Franck's if you want to check it out when you're down there).

Yes, we were thrilled with our flowers and everything we received from Disney Floral :) :) Here are prices for some of the items we bought/rented from Disney Floral (our wedding was Nov 1, so the prices might increase in the future):

Ivory satin and chiffon Mickey guest book: $55 (tiny Mickey head crystals are on the front of the book, nothing tacky, very elegant :))

Ivory satin and chiffon Mickey pen/stand: $25 (matches the guest book)

White unity candles with Swarovski crystal Mickey accents. 1 pillar/2 tapers: $65

White "Crushed Romance" chair covers with Lilac "Crushed" sashes tied in a bow: 30 @ $12 each = $360 (These were absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I am SO glad we decided to get them!!!!!!!!!!!!! At first, we were hesitant to spend so much money on chair covers, but there were SO worth it and I highly recommend them.)

Lilac "Crushed" napkins tied with silver firefly ribbon: 30 @ $5 each = $150 (again, these were just beautiful and really spiced things up!)

Chocolate Mouse ear hats. (10) Milk, (10) Dark, (10) White. Tied in silver: 30 @ $4.50 each = $135 (these were our favors--very cute)

Ivory satin and chiffon Mickey garter set: $20 (it was a set of 2 garters, 1 for wearing and 1 for throwing)

If you'd like our prices for anything else, just ask :) We don't have our pictures back yet, but I'd be happy to email you some pics when we get them if you'd like to see what something specific looks like...just let me know!

Jennifer

Snow White -I would love to see a picture of the chocolate mouse ear hats when you get your pics back - if you have one. They sound really cute.

Ours is over $5000.

Is your's a custom or intimate? We're a medium sized customed.

Our florist did a mock-up for us on Friday when we met with them and it is worth every penny. I was shocked they are so gorgeous.

One of the florists I fell in love with (and didn't realize they were in the Orlando area) is Whimsical Wey. Be careful using an outside vendor... Disney doesn't make it easy on them.

Twojo21, my Disney Floral Proposal was higher but I was pleased with it (it was dead-on).

I just wanted to say that I like your reasoning for the upgraded chairs. Based upon what you said, you should keep them in your budget. You won’t regret doing so, especially when you view your ceremony photos years from now.

In many locations you can use outside companies to do your floral. I used Raining Roses, in the Orlando area. His prices were more reasonable and I thought the finished product was higher quality than what I had seen from disney. Just a thought...

thank you so much for all your ideas, suggestions & info. i really appreciate it. i think ill get some other vendor quotes & ill give a ring to disney floral to try to reduce the cost.

This is a bit off track and sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone have pics of the wooden chairs?
