I'm so aggravated. I bought my DD 7 1/2 the full sized Justin Bieber comforter set from Toys R Us last week. She wanted it so bad but I thought it was overpriced. Since it's a surprise for Christmas, I paid the $84.99 (free shipping). Well, I checked the website yesterday because it was supposed to come with free nail polish but it didn't. Low and behold..the price is now $63.74!! I emailed them to see if they would match it or credit my account but nope. *sigh* That is a difference of $21.25. Short of ordering another one and sending the first one back I'm stuck.

That's my rant for the day. :confused3

Check their facebook page and you'll see TRU is ticking off a lot of people this season for that reason. From not price matching, to not adhering to their usual 8 day price drop policy, to backordering items. My favorite so far was someone ordering enough for free shipping, purchasing the item, and on the receipt it notes that 2 items were out of stock and because of those items being put on backorder, she was charged shipping.

My personal experience so far has been ridiculous. I'm not receiving emails. I tried to reset my password, no email. Ordered something, no email. Checked my spam filter, nothing. Called customer service and spent an hour with 3 different technicians as they tried to reset my password (never accomplished) and resend confirmation emails (still not received). They did acknowledge that it was something in their system but couldn't fix it.

I had two items that need in store pick up. I don't (and won't) have the email to confirm. Hopefully they take the tracking screen I printed. Otherwise I get to fight it out on the floor.

I was surprised by this so I did a little google search and I see that this is a common problem with ToysRUs online!

Personally I would buy another and return the first. It sounds like you wouldn't be out shipping since you got free shipping the first time. Although, I don't know if free shipping is still going on now or not. But the amount of the price drop is large enough that it would be worth the trouble in my opinion.

I did read on other threads that if you return the first one to the store, you would only receive store credit. So keep that in mind.

I recently got a price drop at Victoria's Secret online. They are really good about price drops!

ToysRUs rarely gives customers "the pickle". I do not like going there, ever.

I had a really bad experince with TRU online last year and haven't been there since! Their customer service is horrible! I had to call corporate and complain. After about 2 weeks going back and forth with them a rep was able to clear up the situation in about 5 minutes. I couldn't help but think "Why couldn't the first 15 people I talked to figure this out?" Good luck!

I would return and rebuy for the price difference if you can return the original item to the store and not have to pay return shipping.

Wow...I've never had a problem with them and didn't know all that! I never checked their Facebook page but I see that there are many complaints. Hopefully we'll all get our problems resolved...but I doubt it. :confused3

Then just reorder :thumbsup2

wow does Toys R Us have a lot of complaints on their facebook page!! I dont think I would oder from them after reading them:scared1:

I have had a horrible time with Toys R Us this week trying to order stuff online called three times they still couldn't get the items ordered the site wasn't working for the free shipping and no stores were coming up for me to do store pickup. Finally the third person told me just to go to the store and buy the stuff then I said will I get the sale price and she said no but if you want it that is what you have to do. Needless to say I will not be ordering or shopping there at all unless I have absolutely not choice for something but would never do online.

Yes, if it were me I'd sneak around that policy by getting a refund for the first purchase and ordering it again at the new price. I'd probably order the new one at the low price immediately, for fear they might sell out.

How terrible! :sad2: So many companies are offering flexibility for the holiday season; price matching, allowing for later returns/exchanges in January for purchases made back in Oct./Nov., the list just goes on. What a shame that Toy's R Us is being a grinch this holiday season! (Insert grinch icon here)

I was in there today for a return. I decided to check out their Legos where they had signs all over advertising "buy 1, get one 50% off" They were under all of their sets and said "all construction sets and games". So I bought a base for $16.99 and a Ninjago feet for $16.99. At the time I checked out, I had just found out that an in-law had passed and wasn't thinking well. I was half way home (30 min drive) when I realized they didn't ring up the 50% off. Ugh! I'm reading on line from others that Ninjago is excluded but it didn't say that one the store signs. I will to go back for the $7.50 they owe me or return both items..

They seem to just be the worst when it comes to returns. This is the first year i've not had to shop there and i'm SO glad!
If it were me, i'd go ahead and purchase it online at the lower price and return the first set you bought.

TRU customer service is horrible. They do not care about customer retention AT ALL. Do they sell the comforter set anywhere else? Maybe someone else would price match, then return to TRU and they lost the sale completely. When you called for a price adjustment, did you point out that you could simply reorder then return teh first set? Sometimes that gets them to "make an exception". Sorry for your frustration, I feel your pain.
I tried ordering last week, there was a banner that said free shipping when you spend xx amount. I put more than xx amount in my cart but it kept charging me shipping! went as far as entering in all my info to see if it would change to zero, but nope. so I said forget it. not worth a sale price with shipping involved. (that's why I :lovestruc amazon!

Yea, I thought about ordering another one but I'm kinda scared to now...what if they won't take back the other one? Oy. (My daughter would be happy with 2 Justin Bieber comforters though, LOL)

I haven't seen ANYONE that sells this set. I'm waiting for a second email back from them and I will ask about re-ordering, but I don't hold out much hope. The more I read, the worse it gets! I never knew they were this bad!!!

I bought my DD a Lalaloopsy Littles doll for $16.99 with free shipping. A decent price (despite the doll's small size) because of the free shipping. A week later, TRU is changing $22.99 and $24.99 (plus shipping) for the same doll because they are the only ones selling it in the US. Crazy!

The spend $49 and up and get free shipping was a mess. It excluded half of the items in their store, mostly ones people would be buying during the holidays. On black friday I purchased 2 items and it took me 30 minutes to add them to my cart and check out. The next day I received an email saying one of the items had shipped, I didn't give it much thought because it's common for one item to ship and another one a few days later at other places. Then 3-4 days later I get an email saying the other item had been cancelled, turns out it really wan't in stock, but they would not charge me for that item. The shipping difference was a whole dollar. $10 for shipping 2 items was still a good bargain because the cancelled item was over 50% off. When it was just the one item and add $9 shipping to that I was losing money!

I have to say their customer service was great. I called as soon as I received the email about the item being cancelled and explained to them my frustration. The woman had to talk to her supervisor, but in a few minutes they had credited me my shipping. I might not have gotten the one item but at least I ended up with free shipping. Still by the end of it I decided I would not be shopping online at TRU again.

Although now I see that paypal has placed a temporary hold on the refund???? So frustrating!!!!!

FYI! If you take an item back to the store, that you originally purchased online, they only credit you with an "in store credit", not a cash refund. I ran into that yesterday when I took an item back that I had ordered, and then found cheaper elsewhere on Black Friday.

I ordered Doodle Bears for my girls this year online then the price went down the following week. I took them into the store (just the receipt actually) and they refunded me the difference to my credit card. It was a little bit of a rip off because my tax rate was a lot lower for shipping and when they "resold" me the bears they charged me the store tax rate, but it was only a dollar or two. I would try going into the store if you can. The worst they can say is no, then order it again online. It's worth it to me to save that extra amount!
