My worst fear come true....I booked during spring break! I didn't realize the local kids were off from school. I'm going on a much needed solo trip 3/17 to 3/21...I understand Park volume will be high.

I know my way around the park pretty well and am an early riser....I am hoping that my disney experience will get me through. I didn't really want to plan anything I was going to wing it...but if it is going to busy then I must plan and really don't have the time.

I may just lay out by the pool the whole time and just get some sun.

Any suggestions???

Mar 12-18. When exactly does Spring Break start? Are we going to get hit on this trip?! Well I guess getting some rest sounds like a good idea! Gettting some sun is a great idea, you can always use a tan LOL especially up here in the northeast!

On another thread someone was telling me that Orange County has spring break from 3/13 to 3/17 and then Osceaola County has break the following week. So the weekend that we will both be there will have both groups.

I didn't put 2 and 2 together....my best friend who lives in Osceola County...her kids are on break and will be with her mother for the week. On Monday the 3/20 her and I will be going to the spa and shopping.

Oh well we'll see what happens...I need to relax anyway and not do things commando style this time....maybe I'll go play some golf.

I am going to be there for 14 days starting March 3rd. I know the parks are going to be much more packed then I'm use to since we travel in May or October most of the time. I just hope it's not to bad...

Have a great vacation!

While Spring Break is busier than normal, it isn't as bad as the summer. I am sure that if you already have been to the parks and know about all the time saving techniques then you won't have a problem.

Is there any place to look up the dates of Florida or Colleges spring break dates? We are going 3/10- 3/14 and my sister insists this is spring break weeks and I thought since Easter is later in April this year that spring break would be later? Who has the answers???? Please help. Bringing my best friend, who thank God, is an early riser and knows that in Disney it's commando style with plenty of planning. Actually my sister, who is also going along with DS-8 and DN-9, is a DVC'er and has every moment planned so we will enjoy every moment spent there! Right Ter??? :rotfl2:

We are planning on being down there April 16-23 (during Easter and Passover). This is our Spring Break up in NY and NJ. This would not be my first choise but this is when my boyfriends son is out of school. He is in high school and we do not want to take him out of school. When are other Spring Breaks? I am planning on it being very busy this week but we have been to WDW many times (my boyfriends father lives in Orlando) so we can plan for this.

pretty much all of March and most of April are "someone's" Spring Break. We live at the beach and those two months are constantly flooded with breakers.

Spring break in Ontario, Canada is March 13-17. An OBSCENE amount of tourists travel to Orlando for the break. We go every year for the week of Canadian March break and the week before. We never go to the parks the week of March break - way too busy. We do parks the week before and beach, shopping, etc. the week of March break.

Trust me....it is CRAZY BUSY! 2 years ago we waited 2 hours to get on Small World.

I have also booked a trip to WDW from March 17 thru March 20. I will be traveling solo, and my main reason for making a spring trip to Disney World is to see a couple of spring training baseball games. (Astros vs. Braves & Reds vs. Braves)

Since school spring breaks happen during the same period of time, one has no choice but to brave the crowds if also visiting the parks (which I do plan to do).

The key to an enjoyable trip is advance planning.

Enjoy.

Don't panic. I don't think that all of Florida has spring break that week. We were there last year during NY, NJ and other NE schools spring break and it was not nearly as crowded as it was when we went back in October. I know that TourGuideMike usually has a link to Spring Break times in the Eastern US. You may want to check that out.

Our Spring Break here in the South is the week of March 13th. We will be at Disney the 10-18th. If its busy we will deal with it. I couldn't believe how extremely busy it was the week we were there in September.

On a good note though, we have NEVER been to Disney when all of the parks were open later. Its going to be nice to have more time to spend so maybe the long lines will even out with the extra hours.

I live in the Tampa area, and our spring break is 20-24 March. But when I posted this on the community board, there was a poll that showed that most of the spring breaks were the week before or after Easter.

So don't worry too badly. Hey if it's crazy, maybe we'll join you at the pool!

I think SB is worse than summer time. Summer is busy, but the crowds are mixed and the behavior not so harried. SB seems like a massive crowd free for all. But I would consider 4/8-4/17 the busiest time since if falls the week beofre Easter when more schools have off.

USF is 3/13-3/18, manatee county public schools 3/20-3/24 and sarasota county public schools 3/27-3/31....

Keep in mind that just because it's an area's Spring Break, it doesn't mean everyone is going to WDW! There are lots of popular Spring Break destinations, WDW just being one of them. We went to WDW during our March Spring Break last year and didn't find the crowds to be bad - so we're going back this year!!!

In Oklahoma, spring break week is March 13-17,and I read that Texas' schools are on spring break that week also. We'll be at WDW that week and I'm not going to worry too much about the crowds (mainly because I can't do anything about them!) We've been to WDW twice during Thanksgiving when crowds were very heavy. We had a great time and got to do everything we wanted to as long as we arrived at the parks when they opened and used fastpasses. The weather should be nice during March, and in my opinion, nice weather makes large crowds much more tolerable.

We go during the spring break season more than any other time and have never had a problem. I agree - the worst time to go is in the summer, especially right at the beginning of summer and right at the end. Not only are there tons and tons of locals but it's so HOT that it feels 20 times as populated as it really is.

Spring break is usually really nice weather, especially in the morning and at night, so the crowds don't bother. And remember, the more people there are, the more efficient and staffed Disney is. They know how to handle this. You shouldn't feel that much of a difference.

I'm from wisconsin and most of our colleges have spring break March 17-26. We will be there from the 18-23.
I'm just happy to get out of the cold!! i don't care how crowded it is!!!!
