I am confused about the different age levels disney sets for ticket pricing.

For instance, the silver plan offers two different prices,
adult and child .The child pricing is for ages 3-9, and adult is 10 and above.
BUT, when you look at the different Disney restaurant menus, many of them offer kids meals for ages 3-11.
So,why don't they offer the kids price silver plan to age 11 as well?
I want to make sure that if we have to pay the adult silver plan price for my ten yr old, that he be able to order off of the adult menu, see what I mean ?

And today I noticed, while reading about Disney's spring package deal, that they have adult, junior and kids package prices.

Is the "junior" price for that just for the UPH ticket pricing?

I'm really confused

As far as park tickets go 10 and up are considered adults. The restaurants do something different. For rooms they are considered adults at age 18.

If you are paying an adult silver plan price for your 10 year old, I am sure he could order off the adult menu. i guess the question in my mind would be, would he eat enough of the adult food to make the adult price for the silver plan worth it? We never do meal plans, but my kids don't eat a whole lot, so for us it would not be a very good deal.

I think junior is just what they call kids who are over 10, but under 18, so they are paying the adult price for the parks, but not considered an extra adult for the room rate.

That makes sense Georgina, thankyou!
When we went in 2002, and my son was 8, he was bummed that he had to order off the kids menu when his brother didn't.A few restaurants let him order whatever he wanted, like RainForest .Others like, Sci-Fi, were firm in that he had to order from the kids menu.We just got in the habit of asking our server at each restaurant what their policy was.

You bring up a good point regarding whether or not he will eat enough to make it worthwhile paying the adult silver plan price, but because of his age, we have no choice.Other than to not use his wishes for his meals.
I wonder how easy it would be to pay for his meals seperately with cash, while we use our wishes for ours?

As far as the silver plan goes.....it is a MUST ::YES:: for my DH. He will not go to Disney any other way.
I'm not arguing the point with him, because after all , it gets me to Disney right?
