Agents of SHIELD at WDW?

Hi, guys,

It's been 5 years since I've been to Disney World (and probably as long since I've posted here). My favorite Disney brands at the moment are Star Wars and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. I'm stoked to do all the Star Wars stuff at the parks during my upcoming trip (late January), but I'm not seeing anything for Agents of SHIELD. IS there anything available on property where I'd get a cheap thrill to see Agents of SHIELD advertising, merchandise, props....anything? I've heard the Marvel store in Disney Springs has precious little for this particular show, which is super disappointing.

Also--and I know this is a HUGE longshot--are there any bars on property that would have TVs tuned to the show so fans could watch live on a Tuesday night at 10? Or will I have to return to my hotel room for that?

Thanks for any tips you can give me,

Gray

1. I'm not seeing anything for Agents of SHIELD.
2. are there any bars on property that would have TVs tuned to the show so fans could watch live on a Tuesday night at 10?
3. Or will I have to return to my hotel room for that?

1. For one thing, WDW is severely limited, legally, as to what Marvel characters they can offer in the parks.
2. Unlikely.
3. Likely. (Besides, many folks DVR their shows while on vacation.)

Oh, I didn't realize that about the Marvel characters and legal use. Bummer. Thanks for the reply!

Look at universal, that's the legal issue. They had the rights to many of them before disney acquired marvel so it's a sticky situation on what disney can add in each different area of the world where universal is also located.

edit: I don't really know if they have anything either, just saying if there is marvel in orlando area, it'll be at universal.

I like Agents of Shield too and I didn't see anything related to it during our last trip. I can't imagine anything blocking this show unless it's Nick Fury.

Thanks, Bryan and Planogirl. That's disappointing, to be sure, but not entirely unexpected. Oh well, I'll just go enjoy the Star Wars stuff and everything else and lower my expectations on AOS to "zero." Unfortunately, I'm not going to make it over to Universal on this trip.

Agents of shield has a dotted line to avengers (and other characters that universal does have rights too have in a orlando/us theme park). Comics has so much cross over I can only imagine how hard it would be for disney to use much if anything from marvel in a US theme park. Universal was licensing to a worthy competitor to disney so I'm sure the wording is so difficult that even with disney now owning it they can't do much except take universals money for the licensing to use it.

If you look at what the asian properties are getting as far as new things, it's heavy in marvel.

Only thing that I've seen Shield related is a t shirt at marvel super heroes headquarters at Disney springs

Yes

Yes, all of that talk about Marvel families is just confusing. Disney might feel more motivated if Agents of Shield had better ratings though.

However it's interesting that yulilin3 saw a t-shirt at Disney Springs...

Most of springs isn't disney owned or operated now that it's post construction. a big part of it is a higher priced outlet mall you could find anywhere but with the disney fandom coming by they do cater to who is most coming.

Super hero headquarters is actually disney owned

I know they had a Dr Strange street show for a bit at DHS and had guardians characters at a hard ticket & travel industry event before but aside from that nothing aside from Superhero HQ at the Springs and even then nothing much AoS based
