We are going on our first disney cruise next spring (2004). The problem: one of our two boys will turn 18 years old just prior to the cruise and we are going with two other 17 year old boys.

Will he be excluded from all teen activities? Is there anything they will be able to do together? :(

Thanks!

On one of the other post awhile back it stated that although the cut off age is 17 that sometimes if you go to Common Grounds when you get there for the meet and greet that if they aren't completly full they might let the 18 yr old participate in with the other teens. Don't know how often this actually happens but it would be worth a shot. I'm in the same boat as you. DS will already be 18 when we sail but he doesn't seem to mind as the group he hung out with last didn't stay in common grounds that much anyway. They will have fun whatever they are doing according to my DS.

Thanks Patches--

What activities did your DS enjoy? When are you sailing? We will be going over spring break (March 21, 2004).

We are going on June 19,2004 Western as our DS graduation present. It was his choice of cruiselines and he picked Disney. He did about all the excursions they offered for the teens. He really liked the one on CC, just can't remember the name right now. They got to do 2 or 3 things just the teens. He liked the blacklight basketball (or volleyball?) they had one night, he liked the dances, different kinds of music. He just hung out with alot of the kids he met on the cruise mainly around the hottub and basketball court. They would all meet up after dinner and go to Common Ground and then sometimes they would just go up around the pool and play cards or ping-pong and just hangout as he called it. He and DD really enjoyed the whole cruise and the people they met.

We are in the same situation. DD just turned 18 last Friday and we are considering a cruise for spring break (also March 21, 2004). I guess I am a little concerned that they (she'll bring a friend, also 18, both still in HS) will meet people around the pool and want to do some of the teen excursions with them, but end up disappointed b/c their age won't let them. I just feel that if HS they will want to hang out with others in HS, not a bunch of adults.

I wonder if it would make a difference to bring their high school report cards with us? :D You know, my second son won't graduate until he is almost 19 years old due to a new cut off law (June 1st) in our area at the time he started school. Eliminating him from "teen" activities would definitely seem wrong.
