Age of child on resort reservation vs. ADR

I am visiting WDW in July with my nephew, who turns 10 the day before we arrive. I purchased the Dining Plan with my resort reservation, and I assume that I paid for an adult dining plan for him. He is listed on the resort reservation as 10 years old. I entered his date of birth into his profile on My Disney Experience, and it shows him as 9 years old at present. My concern is that all of my ADR's show us as one adult and one child. I am worried that they will only allow him to order from a child's menu as a result. Will this all correct itself in the Disney systems on our day of arrival? Or do I have to contact them now to try and sort it out? Even if I get them to remove his date of birth from the MDE profile, I think that the ADR's will still show that he reserved as a child. Any suggestions?

You need to verify what dining plan you paid for. That will determine if he's limited to the children's menu.

The age on the ADR is largely irrelevant. They'll ask you how many adults and children when you check in at the podium.

I would just give a call now to make sure his age is accurate on the reservation. If he is 10 at check in then he would be considered a Disney adult for the dining plan & ticket purposes. He may however be listed as a child on the reservation for the actual room. Hope that helps.

I had the same problem. My granddaughter was 2 when I set up MDE and made my ADRs but will be 3 at time of travel. All of my ADRs show her as being an infant. I called and they said as long as she is accounted for in the reservation there would be no problem just let them know at the podium she is a child. They also said on my ADRs on their end she is showing up as child not infant. I received the vacation booklet they send in the mail when you make a resort reservation and her meal credits are child. So...I think it's a MDE glitch that doesn't affect anything on your actual Disney reservation. If I were you I would call just to verify Disney has the correct info. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the replies! I did take the advice here and I called Disney. They told me that they have him down as a 10 year old, and that his magic band will reflect that once he arrives, so there should be no problem. They didn't look into my actual ADR's, but from the replies here, I feel reassured about that. My booklet also shows the meal credits as adult. Thank you so much to everyone for the input!
