I remember hearing this once, but I cant recall what the exact rule was. How old to kids have to be to ride rides alone?
DS just said to me that he wants to go on Buzz Lightyear with his friend. They are both 6. I told him I dont think they will be able to go on alone, that they need a parent with them. The adults would be probably in front of them and in back of them, but I still dont think thats allowed. Am I right? I hope so because I dont think its such a great idea anyway.

It says on the tickets children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult. I'm thinking that's to get in, but I can't imagine letting a child that young ride by him/herself. Maybe you could let them have their own car in front of you on Buzz, that way they feel they are riding alone but you can still keep your eye on them? Just a suggestion.

I seem to recall that it's 7 and up to ride without an adult.

It's definitely 7 on Peter Pan...Or it was when I was at that age...I would think that holds for most rides, though some I think it's older (like the Indy cars)

Thanks for the replies. Thats what I wanted to hear. This should save a lot of problems with the 4 kids fighting who goes on with who. At least we know they all need an adult. And they can still go on some rides "together"... like the Safari, Small World, etc...

I don't think there's a different age limit at the Indy Speedway. There's two height limits: one to ride, and one to drive. They let my 11 yo daughter drive my 4 yo son in one car, while I was the "gas man" and my 8 yo son streered in another car.

My 12 yr old and 8 yr old love to do certain rides together. This just started 1 1/2 yrs ago and we had no trouble doing it then. We just got in the vehicle behind them(Buzz, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan, Spaceship Earth), Was never questioned. DD was almost 7 and DS was 10 at this time. Of course they are not ones to fool around and try to get out or anything! They know and abide by the rules.
Now two 6 year old boys? Not sure about that :p !

As for Buzz.... my son likes to ride in his own car on Buzz (so he can control the spinner and shoot). He actually started doing this when he was 5 because we didn't have an adult to ride with him (3 kids, 2 adults). Nobody ever stopped him. He isn't exceptionally big for his age. I just walked him up to the car, put him in and then climbed in the next car with my 3 yr old. He's been riding Buzz alone ever since.

I just got back, and all the signs I saw said that kids under 7 need to be accompanied by an adult. Even on the milder rides.

Yup, under 7 is supposed to be accompanied by an adult on all attractions. You have to be 10 to enter a park alone.

I was glad I knew the "rules" at one time because I always traveled alone with my 2 boys before I moved to Orlando. My older son would have been 7 and my youngest 5 when they tried to cram the 3 of us in one seat on BTMR. I'm sorry, I'm not small, and I had no desire to be squished in there and worry about crushing them at every turn! The attendant insisted that my son could NOT ride alone and I told her that he darn well could. I said, I KNOW that only under 7 need be accompanied by an adult and he is 7, so he's allowed to ride alone. I know they are trying to cram as many guests in as they can (and this happens a LOT at the Great Movie ride...sorry, but 5 large adults is pushing it there, and 6 of any size is too tight, IMO!) Anyway, knowing the rules can come in handy!
That said, I doubt that two 6 year olds riding in the same vehicle at Buzz with their "adults" in the next car are going to be a problem.

Karen :smooth:
