Age for Space Mountain?

Umm, Tough to be a Bug traumatized me and I was an adult when I first experienced it. The spiders and stinger things! *shudder*

My sons rode it at 3 and 4. No problem.

Mine was a similar size at that age when we took him on it as Disney World. Space mountain isn't side by side like DL but three in a row. DS was in front of me and I held on to his shoulders and DH reached around and to try to calm him down. Was so upset we had difficulty getting him on any ride after that except barn stormer. If she's likes rollercoasters, she'll probably love it. It took a couple more trips, but it's now DS favorite ride.

My husband about lost his marbles on Bugs Life. He was like, the seats are not supposed to touch me! He hated is so much we only ever did it at WDW, would not consider it for DL.

I have kids that have no fear of SM, BTMRR, TOT etc. but are TERRIFIED of the Winnie the Pooh ride.

My daughter loves Space, BTMRR, Guardians, Incrediacoaster, Indy.... BUT HATES IASW.... She is 32...

All 3 of my kids hit it at the age of 3 1/2 . Same can be said for the Tower of Terror. Once they hit 40inches, they were a go for us. We talked up the rides as being fun. So when they finally went on it, that's what they thought!

My DD has been watching videos on YouTube of Space Mountain and she really wants to ride. She’s 5, 44” and 46 pounds. It’s my favorite ride so of course I want to take her, but is she too small? Her 3 year old brother is 40” and 42 pounds but I think he’s too small...

What does everyone think?

My youngest was 3 when she was tall enough, and she loves coasters. She was screaming on the ride in pure terror!!! Come to find out it was because she actually thought we were catapulting through space. My poor baby! After she understood that it stayed on earth, she loved it. Just in case, maybe mention that to your kids. Ha.

lol well yeah giant bugs I guess would traumatize a lot of people. Funny though, he LOVED bugs before this experience. After, not so much. Nipped that potentially disgusting hobby in the bud I guess

Depends on the kid. My oldest went on the 40 inch rides before 3 and enjoyed most of them. I think the dark does make Space scarier for little kids. My son was too timid at 4 to try all the rides but at 5 declared he was old enough for Guardians and Splash (his last 2 hold outs). Space is not his favorite, but he'll ride. His favorite ride in the park is BTMRR.

Since you have 4 adults if possible I suggest riding Thunder Mtn 3 to a row. Then you can sandwich your little in between two adults so they don't slip around so much the first ride through.

Hahahahaha this was me as a child! I wasn’t scared of ANYTHING! I did every ride with no problem! However when they had the Bugs Life show at Disney World I lost it! My parents still tell me how this is the only thing I ever threw a tantrum on at a Disney park. As an adult I still refuse Shows like this lol.

Great idea about sitting 3 to a row on BTR. My kids are little and we have some little adults so it will work great. Thank you!
