Checking to see what people think is the right age for a DS or DD to try out BTMRR/Splash Mtn.

This of course predicated on them being 40" or taller!!!

Thanks
Jason

I didnt vote because I think it depends on the kid. My niece was riding Thunder and loving it at 4. DS is 6 and he still has a heart attack on Goofys Barnstormer, LOL! So obviously, I wouldnt put him on it(not that he even wants to). :)

I agree, it depends on the kid. Mine rode at 4 and was fine but some 30 year old's can't handle it. :)

We just returned from a great trip to DL. My 3.5 year old just barely 40 inch DD rode (and loved) Splash but wouldn't get on Big Thunder. She also loved Jumpin' Jellyfish and Flying Over California over at DCA.

You know your child best. Once your child is tall enough you'll know if s/he will enjoy a certain ride or not.

We almost let our 3 year old ride those 2 on our last trip back in January. He was plenty tall enough (42 inches) but we decided he wasn't old enough.

We are going again in a couple of weeks.... he's about 42 1/2 inches tall now and almost 4... I think he can handle it. :)

Our DD rode both of these from the time she was tall enough, 3.5 yrs, and they were immediate favorites. I think that first year we rode BTMR about 5 times, including 3 in a row on E-Ticket night. When she was 4.5, we rode it 11 times over the course of a week.

Of course, now she's tall enough for Space Mountain, so that's the new favorite. Harder to ride it so many times, though.

My daughter started riding both of those, as well as Test Track shortly after her third birthday (we have a Magical Moments certificate commemorating her first ride on Splash Mountain, signed by a bunch of characters framed in her bedroom).

She is still quite apprehensive of them and more often than not decides not to go, but every once in a while she asks to go on them and then we let her. When she does go, she always has a good time.
